Re: Cease and Desist Abuse of Facebook

Dear Mr. ******,

We represent Facebook, Inc., based in Palo Alto, California.
It has come to Facebook's attention that you have managed and offered for sale an Internet proxy service that is specifically tailored to facilitate illegal and unauthorized activity on Facbook's website and Platform. Your proxy service, located at http://-------.com, bears the name "FaceBook Proxy" in the title bar and advertises the ability to conduct mass mailing and other automated functions on sites such as MySpace and Facebook. You even claim that you will protect your customers when they are disciplined by Facebook, stating: "if your private proxies are blocked by facebook, myspace, aol, hotmail, yahoo or gmail we will replace them one time free of charge."

Your activities are misleading and malicious, violate Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities ("Statement"), and may violate state and federal law. Accordingly, Facebook demands that you immediately cease and desist such activities. Facebook is committed to keeping its website a safe place for users to interact. Facebook has developed its Statement to protect its users. Specifically, Facebook's Statement prohibits, among other things, facilitating or encouraging others to violate the Statement, as well as the activities that the users of your proxy service engage in while protected by your service. See http://www.facebook.com/terms.php.

In addition to violating Facebook's Statement, your activities may violate the California Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act, Cal. Penal Code § 502(c); the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1030; the federal Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing ("CAN-SPAM") Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 7701, et seq.; and state laws prohibiting interference with Facebook's business expectations and interests.
Please contact me no later than close of business, Wednesday September 1, 2010 to confirm that you:
 Have stopped and will refrain from offering or advertising any proxy services for used on Facebook's website(s), development platform, and/or services;
 Have stopped and will refrain from facilitating or encouraging others to violate the Facebook Statement or other Facebook policies and guidelines; and
 Will strictly comply with Facebook's Statement and other policies and guidelines.

Im sure their going after other proxy providers also... good luck Mr. FaceBook

Funny thing was a FaceBook employee tried to buy the site lol.... yeah right sure thing dude

Google Buzz Law Suit?? O_o

Quote:

Google rarely contacts Gmail users via email, but we are making an exception to let you know that we've reached a settlement in a lawsuit regarding Google Buzz (http://buzz.google.com), a service we launched within Gmail in February of this year.

Shortly after its launch, we heard from a number of people who were concerned about privacy. In addition, we were sued by a group of Buzz users and recently reached a settlement in this case.

The settlement acknowledges that we quickly changed the service to address users' concerns. In addition, Google has committed $8.5 million to an independent fund, most of which will support organizations promoting privacy education and policy on the web. We will also do more to educate people about privacy controls specific to Buzz. The more people know about privacy online, the better their online experience will be.

Just to be clear, this is not a settlement in which people who use Gmail can file to receive compensation. Everyone in the U.S. who uses Gmail is included in the settlement, unless you personally decide to opt out before December 6, 2010. The Court will consider final approval of the agreement on January 31, 2011. This email is a summary of the settlement, and more detailed information and instructions approved by the court, including instructions about how to opt out, object, or comment, are available at http://www.BuzzClassAction.com.

This mandatory announcement was sent to all Gmail users in the United States as part of a legal settlement and was authorized by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Dominating Google With WEIRD Backlinks!

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 07:55 PM PDT

Hey guys,

I was running through the backlinks of one of my competitors and I noticed that they are not normal backlinks... It's like hacked pages with soo many links which looks really weird. He has like 35k backlinks.. most of which are like that and he is dominating the serps.

Here are some examples:
http://www.sturgisliving.properties-...ate+kid+online
http://www.jamiecavanaugh.com/philos...id+2010+online
http://ymertennis.com/?bwtp=watch+karate+kid+online

Profile Links and YSE

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 07:16 PM PDT

I've purchased a small Xrumer blast of 1000 profiles about 3 weeks ago.

I ran the index checker in Scrapebox, and just about all of them are indexed by YAHOO.

Now here's the kicker...Only ONE (1) link has made it to my YSE, even though about 900 are indexed. Anyone know why!

I'm really wanting to buy another 4,000 Profile blast, but Don't want to if I cant get them on my YSE.

When searching online for store coupons, do you type "coupon" or "coupons"

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 07:10 PM PDT

I'm just trying to get a consensus from those of you that use Google or other search engines to find coupons and/or coupon codes for certain stores. Do you type in "store name coupon" (singular) or "store name coupons" (plural)

The reason I ask is because I feel that the natural thing to type as a consumer would be the plural form. For example, Target coupons or Burger King coupons, rather than the singular form (Target coupon, Burger King coupon), but I was doing some keyword research today because I want to start a coupon site for a certain store, and Google's KW tool is telling me that more people type in the singular form of "store name coupon" rather than the plural "coupons" and it just doesn't seem right.

The numbers are way different too - the singular form of the phrase gets 1,300 searches per month while the plural only gets around 200 according to Google's KW tool. This is on exact match too which is all I go by.

I then double checked my results by using Wordtracker's tool, and they are reporting much different results with the plural forms getting more searches.

So when browsing the web as a consumer and not an IMer, which way would you do the search? Would it depend at all on the store you were searching for, or would you always do it the same no matter what?

[Method] For people outside the USA

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 06:01 PM PDT

Well, this is a method i tested myself and re-tested and tested again, so don't say it don't work!

it has to do with the roulette game on those betting houses.. like bwin.

put like $500 in the account and go to the roulette game...

bet $5 on the red
(if black wins..) double it ($10) and bet on the black and keep doing it till you win.. when you win go back to the $5
(if red wins..) bet the same amount on the red again

seems too easy? it is! but don't abuse the system or you may lose it all!
make $30 or $40 and move on to the next betting house... dont make more than $150 per betting house in 1 week.

have fun!

Want to be in a Bulk Email Co-Op?

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 05:10 PM PDT

Alright folks, this is for the serious heavy hitters out there. I am forming a coalition of bulk emailer's to go in with me on a forming our own ISP Data and Hosting Center. We would purchase and own ALL the IP addresses for this venture (therefor we would not be going through a normal DC to get assigned IP addresses). This costs a pretty penny though. The minimum IP block I looked at so far is around $1,250 plus a $500 one-time AS certification fee. Then there are fee's regarding our Upstream provider's bandwidth and the actual server boxes as well. We will be looking at getting around 2,500+ IP addresses to get this rolling. We have to have at least 25% of them utilized to make it work (which I could easily do because I can duplicate the heck out of some wordpress sites).

Anyway, this would be considered an actual bulke mailer friendly Co-Op. I would be interested in hosting bulk email friendly websites specifically for the purpose of giving a big F#$% you to Spamhaus. I will have all my websites restored here in the next day or so. The bottom line is this, if any of us are to survive the behemoth that has become of Spamhaus then we essentially need to own our own network (which is the plan here). If your interested in coming aboard and sharing the cost to get all this set up, then go ahead and PM me and I will be sending you my contact details and a time where we can talk. I already have on of the other biggest bulk emailers and list brokers (like myself) to join forces with me on this and together we have strength in numbers. Let me know guys.

Joshua Greenwood

hello fellow blackhaters :)

So to make this story short i got this c&d from facebook into my mail and i would like to know your opinion what to do next. whats my move? :)

HERE IT GOES:
We represent Facebook, Inc., based in Palo Alto, California. It has come to our attention that
you are creating unauthorized Facebook Profiles and pages that are designed to facilitate illegal
advertising scams that trick Facebook users into clicking on links that divert them to sites that
collect their personal information, charge them money, and that pay you for traffic generated by
your scheme. For example, one of the Facebook Pages you created, "xxxxx" directed users to http:xxx.com, which then redirected them to
offers that solicited their personal information. You are creating multiple fake Facebook profiles
in furtherance of your scheme. These unauthorized activities violate Facebook's
Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, Advertising Guidelines, Promotional Guidelines, and
Developer Principles and Policies (collectively, "Terms"), and may violate a number of state and
federal laws.
Facebook demands that you immediately cease and desist this activity.

How To Email All Of Your Facebook Fans??

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 04:48 PM PDT

Hey everyone! I have a few issue's that I would like to run past the Facebook experts.

Over the past 2 months I have amassed over 450 fans of my personal page. What a pain the process has been to manually seek out and add targeted following.

Out of all the marketing that I currently do, Facebook has gotten me the most traffic to my website.

Today, I tried to send emails to my following so that they would come over to my website and read some of my new articles.

Unfortunately Facebook does not allow you to send over 20 emails at a time.

To get around this I decided that I would create multiple lists of 20+ people then create unique email content for each list and send them away.

Well, it appears that after all my hard work only one of the emails actually made it :(

What do I have to do to send emails to all my fans??

Currently I am restricted from adding new friends because I invited too many recently. Does that have anything to do with it?

I am thinking that I should delete out all my lists, then create lists that are geo targeted, meaning that I should create a list for every state in the United States and other countries that people on my list live in. Then send the emails...

Would this work? Should I wait to do this until I can invite people again?

What is the BEST way to email all my Facebook fans? Should I purchase software to do this?

All advice is appreciated.

are backlinks getting less important?!

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 04:45 PM PDT

hey folks,

I've been noticing that more sites with 0 or just a few backlinks start ranking above sites with lots of backlinks on keywords where articlesbase / youtube etc are in the top ten - and above them - and above affiliate sites that follow the standard 10-30 pages, few backlink wheels approach...

To test how important backlinks might be I simply tested by blasting an affiliate site (not mine) with some(I guess small) scrapebox blasts... since there is no real sandbox for backlinks I am only doing something good to this affiliate site anyways, so I thought, what the ****, lets try it.

that site has now about 150 backlinks more(wordpress only) then before the blast(before it had about 40), the backlinks are all with different keywords in the anchor text. I tried to get only backlinks from niche relevant sites.

guess what, that site is still not able to get above the site that has only 2 freaking backlinks...!!! and these 2 backlinks have a pr of n/a to the page, and the main domains have pr 4. the pages have 41 and 20 outgoing links each... and the pages, both of them are not content related to the site they link to.

so in my amateur opinion these backlinks are not strong, now are they?
however - the affiliate site I blasted had below 20 pages, more or less keyword optimized, while the other site has about 1200 pages indexed - and guess what, only rss feed autoblog articles are on that site, but 2, the ones with the affiliate links...

the small affiliate site has no content that is duplicate content according to copyscape, and the 2 backlink site passes copyscape too (wtf, how is this possible, 99% of it's posts are from rss feeds?!)

both sites have a pr of 0 and an age of 0.
the 2 backlink site has the keyword in the h1, the affiliate site I blasted has not.

the keyword is a 3 word phrase. the affiliate has 2 of these words in it's domain, the site with the low backlink count has all three in it.

guys... I DON'T GET IT... or is an exact match domain more important then quite a few backlinks...? still, the affiliate site has all keywords in the url to some articles...

even with not-that-good onpage seo the affiliate site I blasted should rank above a 2 backlink site with rss content...

seems like more content + exact match domain + better onpage seo outperforms lots of links(I guess if the links go into the thousands, it will be different) + almost exact match domain + small site + "could be better" onsite seo

I am going to do some more blasts, maybe that does help. this time with the exact keyword match I used for the search, in my previous blast I did only add anchor text with keywords that have a high search volume(but still, the other site does not have the keywords in the backlink anchor text too, so that shouldn't have been the problem...)

what do you guys think?

New Local Listing and Business Directories

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 04:10 PM PDT

For the last couple of days G get me thinking really hard with all local listing changes. There are some discussions on how this affects business listings, but what do you think about future of business directories?

Various directories used to have very strong presence in local business searches and now most of them are gone. I'm not speaking of small sites - for the example search I just checked lots of big directories were pushed out - YP, yelp, kijiji / craigslist - all gone. They must be loosing lots of traffic now.

Of course my concern is about my membership site / directory which is also gone from first page.

What do you think? Is there a way to rank a directory nowdays? I'm thinking might be a time go city.site.com subdomains and create google place profile for each, well, it doesn't help ones I mentioned as they all have local subdomains.

thanks

how do you rank a website without much content??

Posted: 02 Nov 2010 03:57 PM PDT

Let's say I had a forum website about a video game with TONS of video game cheats and hacks that people are in search of. But access to these files and cheats are restricted for members only.

So basically:

-website name contains no keywords for SEO

Question is: How do you try to rank for a website like that.

The only thing I could think of is by creating a blog or posting articles on web 2.0 sites which link to your site and then creating backlinks for those pages.

Is that correct??

Any other methods?

is there anywhere that lets me freely manage and mail an opt in list?

Chat site script/monetize?

Does anyone know of a chat site script that would be suitable for (countryname)chat.com type domains?

Or should I just add IRC to it, then ads around it etc.

[BEWARE]Of Blackhatword Clone Sites

Any veterans of BHW already know this and I think this is something that should be brought to the communities attention.

This is something I think should be in the Please Read: section.

BHW bar none is the first and the originator of using advanced methods for SEO(Search Engine Optimization) Like with anything, there's bound to be imitators.Which there are alot.

The best programs get shared here for a reason because its a trusted community and this site goes the extra mile to exclude malicious material shared through out the community.

If a popular item is shared here from the Buy/Sell/Trade that is extremely popular and you don't want to pay the money for it and look elsewhere for it,you will end up with a extreme virus and you will have to redo your whole system if you download it.People offering these items want to cash in on there popularity by giving you a virus that benifits them.

Use your head....People share things for a reason.Trusted community, downloads that are safe, and mods that are on top of things.

Think before you act.
