and essentially I'm looking for some tips on how to monetize, it's only getting around 3k uv's a day right now, but it's fairly new. It's also making about 20$ a day off adsense / cpx so the profits fairly slim, but on the weekends I get huge bursts in traffic (last saturday I made 290$). I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what I should do to better monetize it.

Do You Setup External Links to Open in a New Window?

Took some time off this afternoon to think about SEO. I do that once a week.
I did realize I never setup external links to open in the same window; they always go in a new tab/window if it's internet explorer.

I wonder if it has SEO impact and how visitors treat that.

What do you think? and how do you go about it?

Sup Guys,

I'll keep this short, basically we've had a e-commerce site going for about 3-4 years now, domain is from 2007, we stupidly never focused very much on SEO, just kept our google adwords going, we were ranked #1 for a few keyword, but they had little to no competition.

We are now wanting to focus heavily on some SEo to get ourselves ranked high on certain decently competitive keywords

We are on the fence about the best way to get us ranked high ASAP, like 1-2 months, we have been talking to some of the cheaper india companies with good feedback, but we also know white hat takes a while

How big of a risk are we at if we use some black hat work? I know Google can sandbox older domains, but do we risk the same?

We are ranking decently already, just looking for some feedback

Finally got a youtube account with views over 40k, oh lucky me..

Not much, but an acheivement for me anyways...
Really new to all of this, but how do i monetize this...

Already made the popular video link to another youtube account, which is in the same niche, but trying to promote too...

Tried blogspot direction, it dont work too well.. 50 cents at least.. but is an external website the only way to make this work?

Ok I got a WP site and am looking for a adsense theme that gets very good clickthrough.

I realize there are many out there, some pay, some free. I'm capable of producing my own custom theme but I'd rather not since my time is limited and would rather focus on content and link building. I'm sure a lot of us are in that same predicament so I thought I'd create this thread to brainstorm.

So with that said, can anyone recommend a Wordpress theme that gets good clickthrough rate? Please specify the theme, its version, the category of your website (finance, auto, etc.) and the clickthrough%.

I want to get a large number of responses so that not just one person's experience with a theme would nix it from being considered.

IP Trouble: Actiontec GT704WGB seems worthless...

So I just ordered an actiontec modem from Verizon. Everyone said to get a GT701D but Verizon only supports the GT704WGB. My boss however wanted to try this model. So it came today, when I disconnected and reconnected it won't give me a new IP. I Left it down for like 5 min at one time, still no luck. I called Verizon and they said that I was able to only "access/change 1 IP per day" or something, I couldn't really understand the customer support agent. I actually didn't know that they could do that for certain modems and still don't necessarily believe it. They had me power cycle it and the Ip changed but I could never do it with the connect/disconnect buttons after. I also couldn't get a new IP by power cycling again. I'm confused and can only guess that they made the modem this way to stop people like us lol.

So basically DON'T GET THE Actiontec GT704WGB. If anyone has any ideas on how to help me that'd be awesome but I'm pretty sure we just have to return it and get model GT701D.

Also what's the difference between the GT701C & GT701D? I've seen a lot of people talking about GT701D but I'm just curious.

Noticed some backlinks point to www.mysite, does it matter?

All my sites are set up in the format of mysite.com, I do not use WWW in front of my sites. I just noticed on this article directory service I use to get backlinks that I set it up wrong and it points to www.mysite .com Will this matter or will the backlinks still count the same?

I just register a new domain name with the word jcpenney in it for promoting some of there products.

Jcpenney just got in trouble with google for buying backlinks & got peninalized for doing it.

I was checking out the fairly new [Allowed Sites] setting in Adsense and thought it was a really good idea that should have been implemented a long time ago.

Anyway, I added my 3 websites to the Allowed List and only my 3 websites. This would seem like the logical thing to do for a newbie since I only expect my own Adsense ads to appear only on my website.

On a typical day I average between $15.00 and $22.00. Today my earnings were quite low and I noticed that "Unauthorized Websites" have been displaying my Adsense ads:

Bing.com
translate.googleusercontent.com
(there was one more but I forget what it was)

I'm not really sure why these websites would be displaying my ads. Bing I might understand if it was via someone viewing their cached version of my website. But what is translate.googleusercontent.com?

To make a long story short, I put my settings back to allow any website to display my ads and my earnings started accumulating as normal again.

I guess what my question is, what did I do wrong?

Got banned today on Craigslist...Woop...Woop... posted on avg 20 post a day and got the whip..

Registered with a new different email and a new activation number... Posted about 10 ads a couple hours later and got the whip on that...

So Im 0-2 today for accounts not becoming "On hold"

Wondering what it is going to take to get back up and running.

New IP address? (Can't rotate IP adress right now since im on linksys)
New internet connection? (Quit being cheap and actually pay for service)

So I found my niche on the British market, but as I can currently only offer payment per paypal, I lose most of my potential customers. I need a British bank account for giropay and that kind of stuff.

I am German, in Germany, and I don't have the spare money to rent an apartment on the Isles, so getting a private bank account the usual way won't work. I have not been compelled to make this announcement for any other reasons than I understand...

I had 5 users on one of our servers during the previous 2 month's while fighting with Spamhaus and there were so many issues with the servers during those 2 months that I was down 50% of the time or more it seemed.

Even though I kept paying the server bills and giving free server time, as well as paying the admins who they kept changing out domains and IPs, it did not help the response rate enough to make the server worthy of my name.

There was never enough down time to rebuild rep after the inexperienced mailers sent that garbage data through...and that will never happen again...I promise that! But we still need to make right with anyone that did not receive an average (or better) success rate in delivery.

What I am doing about it:

I have no current clients on that server, so I am handling it naturally and rebuilding it's sender rep with seed lists and opt-ins. This will take a little time, but I wanted to be sure that I make a public statement that I will be replacing all accounts that had under a 2% open rate from December - February.

This is an unusual place to make this statement, but I wanted to be sure that anyone effected received it and that I am held responsible for following through. If you were one of those accounts and wish to be on the backup servers until the server is rebuilt, let me know...

Hi guys! I'm throwing a challenge to all the SEO gurus here to see if you can help me out. I just built an online store that has recently gone live using shopperpress plugin on wordpress platform. My website sells bluray movie backup discs (a grey business) and my targeted audience is the world over.

If you were me, how would you promote this new (grey business) online store to the world if you can invest the time daily but not the $$ (because I'm financially challenged) to do online promotional work to gain a significant worldwide visitors immediately?

I want to use the powerful social media networking to promote it for free, but I do not have any idea how to go about it especially when I want to promote a website that deals in grey market products. FYI, I know how to create a fanpage, but how do I go about doing it subtly so that I can gain a strong worldwide follower while not getting blacklisted or having my fanpage taken off due to what I'm dealing?

My website is currently getting ZERO visitors because my website has yet to be indexed by search engines. What WOULD YOU DO to work on gaining immediate visitors NOW while waiting for the website to be indexed? It has to be visitors from all over the world and using FREE advertising / marketing platforms.

web2.0 newbie question

Hi - so I'm building some what I imagine to be web 2.0 properties - in Facebook.

I'm making very realistic people with interests, photos, jobs, etc and building up friends etc.

Would I then add my site link into their "work" part of their profile - or on facebook do you just build up loads of friends and mention links fairly regularly?

My plan would be to build very believable people with a profile link and then have these people join millions of forums with the forum links pointing to the Facebook profiles, which in turn point to the money site.

Told you it was a newbie question!

Ok So a business owner wants me to get his site ranked for a few keywords. Doing some research it looks like I can get him ranked for these keywords. I've never done any kind of SEO services before, so what should I charge to get him ranked in the top 10?

Should I ask for upfront payment? Hope someone can help me with this! THANKS SO MUCH IM EXCITED!!! Maybe I found a new way to make money!!!! :)
