About getting my IP address banned

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 08:28 PM PDT

Newbie here.

I am using an email campaign service (they use web software by interspire) to send about 10,000 emails to contacts my company has (all legit).

Would it be safe to say that their IP address is on many many blacklists so many of my emails won't even get to the contact's spam filter.

I presume their IP address is on many lists as they offer an email campaign service as part of their business.

Anyway what is the best way to send an email campaign on a regular weekly basis and have a darn good chance of getting thry.

Stupid question

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:46 PM PDT

I buy and resell, I often gets emails from my supplier for new merchandise and I can also see every one else she emailed. Example: the email would show it something like this

to: 123@zz.com 1234@zz.com 12345@zz.com 123456@zz.com asdasf@ff.com
12sdf3@zz.com 123sdf4@zz.com 12345@zz.com 123456@zz.com asdasf@ff.com
123fgh@zz.com 113234@zz.com 123qwe45@zz.com 1fh234jgf56@zz.com asdasf@ff.com 1asd23@zz.com 1gjk234@zz.com 12345@zz.com 1dfg23456@zz.com asdasf@ff.com 1hj23@zz.com 12fgh34@zz.com 12345@zz.com 123fh456@zz.com asdasf@ff.com

The thing is I want to start emailing my customers about new products and such but don't want them to see everyone else I emailed. I also don't want to sent one email at a time, that would be too time consuming, so is there any method I don't know about? Maybe a bulk email sender, if such thing exists.

So Matt Cutt, if you want me to remove my thread, please come apologize publicly for

Minimum Global Search Results

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:42 PM PDT

What, would you say, is the absolute minimum search results to even be worth trying a keyword or phrase? Disregard the competition for this comparison. I've found a few keywords with 500 - 1000 searches a month (global) for exact match that have very little competition. If I had #1 on Google, how many hits do you think I'd get a month? If monetized properly (let's say PPC and a few affiliate links), would it be worth the effort?

Bookmarking Demon - Unable to Submit To Page 3?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:35 PM PDT

Hey u BMD users I'd appreciate some help.

So I uploaded like 2000 additional Pligg, Scuttle etc. sites to my BMD. I did a test run of 1,000 bookmarks and only got a 10% success rate.

When the submission report finished, I keep getting the "Unable To Submit To Page 3" error.

Any idea what that means and how I can fix it?

Also, why the F*&$ does this thing eat so much decaptcha?

I did the 1,000 or so submission run, and got only like 100 successful submits, but it cost me like $2 on my decaptcher balance?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Should I invest in the scrapebox tool?

So, I've been thinking about the scrapebox tool. It seems like everyone is using it, and seems to be working for almost all users here.

So, I'm curious to try it and mostly interested since I can find around 300K links for backlinking here, which is a great deal to me.

I'm wondering, though.

Should I invest in it?

Quick Question About TRADEMARK?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 06:56 PM PDT

I will of course meet up with the lawyer and talk about it, but not to waste his hour and my money I feel like I should do a lot of research beforehand to find out as much as I can.

So here is my question...
I have a shirt company, and I made a funny slogan and want to trademark it. I want to trademark it so that no one else is allowed to use that slogan without my permission (or contract states). If they fail to do so, I can sue them.

So imagine the slogan is, "This is a funny t-shirt". And I want to trademark it so that no one else can use it, is it possible? Or do I need to register "This is a funny-shirt" as a business name?

Here is an example...
Imagine companies like: OLD NAVY, ROOTS, PHAT FARM, NIKE, etc.
They are all real names of objects, people, words, you name it... But yet you aren't allowed to use those names under your products? Why not? What did they do to protect themselves?

Illegible vs duplicate text

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 06:27 PM PDT

Since I'm not a native english speaker (and even if I were I don't know much about a lot of good paying niches) I will be coping articles from other www.

Now, with The best spinner you can either have OK-ish but less uniuqe text or 90% and copyscape passed but quite illegible.

I wonder if anyone had their websites manually deindexed, or adsense account banned because of "low quality" articles?

Maybe it's better to have them less unique but "looking" better, to be on the safe side?...

Prepare to be blown away...12 year old Einstein

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 05:16 PM PDT

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theloo...skys-the-limit

In some ways, Jacob Barnett is just like any other 12-year-old kid. He plays Guitar Hero, shoots hoops with his friends, and has a platonic girlfriend.
But in other ways, he's a little different. Jake, who has an IQ of 170, began solving 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzles at the age of 3, not long after he'd been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, a mild form of autism. A few years later, he taught himself calculus, algebra, and geometry in two weeks. By 8, he had left high school, and is currently taking college-level advanced astrophysics classes—while tutoring his older classmates. And he's being recruited for a paid researcher job by Indiana University.
Now, he's at work on a theory that challenges the Big Bang—the prevailing explanation among scientists for how the universe came about. It's not clear how developed it is, but experts say he's asking the right questions.
"The theory that he's working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics," Scott Tremaine of Princeton University's Institute for Advanced Studies—where Einstein (pictured) himself worked—wrote in an email to Jake's family. "Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize."
Here you can watch Jake question some of the key elements of Albert Einstein's theories on quantum physics:

It's not clear where Jake got his gifts from. "Whenever I try talking about math with anyone in my family," he told the Indianapolis Star, "they just stare blankly."
But his parents encouraged his interests from the start. Once, they took him to the planetarium at Butler University. "We were in the crowd, just sitting, listening to this guy ask the crowd if anyone knew why the moons going around Mars were potato-shaped and not round," Jake's mother, Kristine Barnett, told the Star. "Jacob raised his hand and said, 'Excuse me, but what are the sizes of the moons around Mars?' "
After the lecturer answered, said Kristine, "Jacob looked at him and said the gravity of the planet ... is so large that (the moon's) gravity would not be able to pull it into a round shape."
"That entire building ... everyone was just looking at him, like, 'Who is this 3-year-old?

Offline Marketing - Get Into Business Directories Now

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:50 PM PDT

I have a large directory I'm building right now. It's a restaurant directory based on a location in western USA because a really nice domain popped up.
If you are interested in getting into this, I'm looking for a person who can do any or all of the following:
-Get or has a telemarketing crew that can call businesses
-Invest in large offline advertising deals. (although the deal will be done online and payment via PayPal) I do have money, but if you want to get in and grab a portion of it, then that's cool.
-USA or Canada is proffered but not required.
-Drive geotargetted traffic to the site (Facebook or however you want)

So if you are interested in getting into this, then that would be cool.
I do have Skype where I keep all my online contacts, if you are interested. My ID is: macdonjo

Anyone play League of Legends during their IM breaks?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:48 PM PDT

Ok Maybe not for those older of us, but for the younger crowd, does anyone play this game!? I usually fit one game in when i'm tired of typing articles or i've just finished what I need to submit in AMR / xGenSEO or setting up a wordpress.

For those of you that don't know what it is, it's like a DOTA type game where it's a 5v5 tug-of-war, it's kind of cartoon-ey but the gameplay is nice and the game is developed pretty heavily with new champions(characters) coming out like every ~2 weeks.

Here's the Youtube Video for the First Season of League of Legends

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzMnCv_lPxI

Anyways, it's free to play and the game runs off micro transactions in the form of skins that don't give an advantage to the player, just a different look. Give the game a shot as I find it that you often need to take many breaks with IM because it's a never ending process, rinse, repeat, scale, even if games are not your thing, take your eyes off the computer or go outside for a bit! :)

Is it legal to rewrite an ebook and sell it?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:29 PM PDT

Hi there!

Is was wondering if it's legal, by an example, to buy an ebook at Clickbank, a Warrior Forum WSO or something like it (in the internet marketing niche), and then 100% totally rewrite the ebook, so I "only" take the ideas and methods from the ebook, and put them into my own words, and then go out and sell it as a new ebook/product?

Anyone know if this is legal?

Any response to my question is appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Has Your Site Been Panda Slapped?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:21 PM PDT

Hey guys,

I thought I would post this as I am seeing just bits and pieces of this everywhere and a lot of people losing their shirts overnight. Its the most comprehensive article I've seen so far and just wanted to share with everyone here as a way of giving back to BHW which has done so much for me.

This is not new stuff for those of us at the forefront. For for many of us and the noobs - it might make for interesting reading. So bear with me if you've read it all before ok? ;)

At first glance, all these strikes me as google going after black hatters everywhere. Personally I don't think we should all start changing the color of our hats overnight (that will be the end of this forum as we know it!) But rather, if we know what the heck is going on, we can be a little bit more careful and narrow down our aggressive stuff to small sites and avoid doing it for our big money sites until we see that the test site hasn't been mauled by the Panda.

Also - since we are on this subject - I would like to throw this question onto the floor and ask if the Panda striking one or more of our sites does actually affect all our other sites on the same server? I ask this because I've seen many people screaming they have lost ALL their sites. Is it because they did the same spam for all their sites or the Panda searched out the lair and killed anything in it?

The article is written by Mark Nunney and be found here: http://www.wordtracker.com/academy/google-panda-farmer

What posted here are some excerpts which hopefully sheds some light on this matter:

What in the name of Google is going on?

The aims of Panda are noble: to remove poor quality sites from the top of Google’s results pages. Or as Matt Cutts, Google’s head of spam, puts it in a blog post announcing Panda:

"This update is designed to reduce rankings for low quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high quality sites—sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on."

The last thing Google wants is searchers being unhappy with what they find. They might try another search engine if that happens.

Few people other than the low quality sites’ owners and their investors will have a problem with that.

But all major Google updates leave ‘collateral damage’ behind them: sites that just don’t match the target or deserve to be penalized. Google are aware of this and so have asked those with “a high quality site that has been negatively affected by this change” to let them know about it here.

So if you have a high quality site that’s been adversely affected by Panda Farmer then let Google know.

The site used as an example on this page is a high quality site hurt by Panda. It’s core content is hundreds of long in-depth specialist articles plus a Q and A based forum for readers’ problems.

Perhaps the Q & A pages are the problem (those pages could like thin content to Google's robots). But then I know of two similar sites in different markets that have also been hit but don’t have the Q & A based forum. No, it wont be that easy to work out why an innocent site has suffered.

What factors make a site vulnerable to Panda?

Google like to keep these things secret but the two engineers at the heart of Panda, Matt Cutts and Amit Singhal, gave us some strong clues in an interview with Wired.

Cutts and Singhal revealed their process which I’ll summarize as:

• Conduct qualitative research (that’s speaking with individuals and not a big questionnaire) to find out which of a sample of sites they considered to be low quality and why.

• Use the results to define low quality sites with the factors that Google can measure. This gives Google a mathematical definition of low quality.

If we start here, we can think of a number of factors that Google might be able to measure to define low quality, including:

• A high % of duplicate content. This might apply to a page, a site or both. If it’s a site measure then that might contribute to each page’s evaluation.

• A low amount of original content on a page or site.

• A high % (or number) of pages with a low amount of original content.

• A high amount of inappropriate (they don’t match the search queries a page does well for) adverts, especially high on the page.

• Page content (and page title tag) not matching the search queries a page does well for.

• Unnatural language on a page including heavy-handed on-page SEO (‘over-optimization’ to use a common oxymoron). Eg unnatural overuse of a word on a page.

• High bounce rate on page or site.

• Low visit times on page or site.

• Low % of users returning to a site.

• Low clickthrough % from Google’s results pages (for page or site).

• High % of boilerplate content (the same on every page).

• Low or no quality inbound links to a page or site (by count or %).

• Low or no mentions or links to a page or site in social media and from other sites.

If any of these factors is relevant to Panda, it is unlikely that they will be so on their own.

Multiple factors will likley be required to get ‘Panda points’ (and points do not mean prizes in this game). Panda points will be added up. Cross a threshold (the Panda Line) and all the pages on your site seem to be affected. This includes quality original pages being ranked well below useless scraper sites that have stolen your content.

Google have said that “low quality content on part of a site can impact a site’s ranking as a whole.”

It's important to define the difference between an algo change and a penalty.

A penalty must be served if it has a time limit and lifted if it is to be removed.

An algo change exists and its results will continue until it is changed, your site changes (or your site gets whitelisted).

Panda is an algo change but no ordinary one. It's an algo change that works like a penalty because if your site crosses the Panda Line then the whole site is affected, quality pages too.

Panda is penalty by algo.

What to do if you’ve been hit by a Panda

Google suggest:

"If you believe you’ve been impacted by this change you should evaluate all the content on your site and do your best to improve the overall quality of the pages on your domain. Removing low quality pages or moving them to a different domain could help your rankings for the higher quality content.”

Let’s add a bit more to that, put it into practical actions and make a process …

• Find the pages and page types hit worst on your site.

• Isolate differences between those hit and those not.

• Test changing those factors on hit pages but use this method of analysis with caution because the pages hit most might not be the pages earning you the penalty.

• Make a list of your different types of pages. Eg, forum, quality article, low quality article, light category, quality category, product, blog post, etc. Put the list in a column in a spreadsheet and start building a table.

• Add columns for relevant factors like ‘lots of ads’, little content, some dupe, all dupe, etc and also number of pages and % drop in Google US organic visits. Fill in the values for each type of page.

• Look at how much of your site (% of pages) is taken up by your lowest quality pages and improve that.

• If you are scraping or otherwise copying other site’s content, replace it with quality original content or test removing some (or even all) of those pages (and adding 301s from them to relevant pages higher up your site’s hierarchy).

• If you have a large number of pages with dupe (of your own copy), weak or almost no content, improve them or remove (and 301) them or block them from Google with robots.txt.

• If you have lots of pages that dupe your own copy (eg, as happens with some content management systems and on a lot of ecommerce sites that build new URLs for ‘faceted’ pages) then add rel=canonical tags to the ‘duped’ pages. This stops Google seeing those pages as dupes.

• Edit any ‘over-optimized’ pages.

• Improve anything that might make the user’s experience better.

• Offer users more when they first enter a page. Eg, images, videos, attractive text and pages linking to your best, related editorial content.

• If possible, make your content’s language more accessible and more real?

• Promote your content on social media including Twitter and Facebook.

• Build your brand awareness across the web wherever you can.

• If you’re sure your site is ‘Google clean’ and worthy, let Google know about it but don’t expect this to have much effect.

• Make as many of these changes as you can at once in the hope of shaking off the penalty quickly. With editorial content improving, you can then add back any marketing you are missing, in steps, checking to see you don’t get slapped again.

The Real Truth About PVA’s….

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 03:36 PM PDT

The Real Truth About PVA's….

I've been testing and researching Craigslist, Posting, PVA, IP Solutions, etc for almost 5 years. I don't consider myself an expert, as I'm still learning each and every day. But I thought I would share something interesting with you. You may agree, you may disagree….

CL *HAS* a ranking system for PVA's. I am 100% sure of this. Here is how I know….. I have accounts that I created over 4+ years ago. I have been resetting this accounts time and time again with the same phone #, in the same region. Not the exact same IP, but the same part of the country. I also have purchased PVA's, and used Land line forwarding services from vendors to create/reset my own PVA. When Craigslist tightened up at the beginning of march, I noticed something strange….. All of the accounts that I had just created using forwarded landlines were ghosting like crazy. My other accounts were not. At first I thought it may have something to do with the lines themselves. I contacted the Vendor, and he assured me, it was impossible for it to be the lines I used. So I kept testing, and trying new things. I used these PVA's to post in less sensitive categories on craigslist. After time the newer PVA (the ones I created using forwarded lines), would reset. After 3+ Resets, I notices something… They were able to post in the more sensitive categories on CL. They Still Would ghost some, but not 90+ % like they did when they were new.

Some of my older PVA's seem to have what I call a "BulletProof" Ranking. They can post 200-300 ads a day, in sensitive categories All over the US, using local IPs… no probs.

So what to do? I think 1 solution is working at creating, and building quality PVA's. Just like wine, the older they age, the better.

Some will tell you it's all about the IP, some will say it's all about the content, some will say its all about GEO. I don't disagree those are factors also. Those happen to be the know factors you can easily control. You can create fresh, dynamic content, you get a good IP solution, you can match you posting location, with Geo PVA, and GEO IP…

But the PVA itself has more to do with it, than anything else.

Is that a good way to lower my click per visitor ?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 03:26 PM PDT

Hello, i'm starting a new website who will be running some cpa offer, I have been accepted at aprox 15 cpa programs in 15 different network so it won't be suspicious if the same IP adresse complete 15 CPA offers in the same hour (correct me if I'm wrong).

As I will ask some people to fulfill the CPA form to get rewarded (incentive) my click per visitor will be 100% and one click = one sell. This will get be banned in no time to all my CPA network for sure. So I figured out that I can buy cheap geo-targeted traffic to lower my rate, I will buy traffic at PTC website and website link linkbucks or adf.ly so I it won't matter if my website looks attractive or not.
I was thinking of create two landing pages:
1/ one with 15 Ifram to displaying my advertised product's banner
2/ One Ifram who will be displayed only one time for every 100 times the landing page n°1 will be displayed. The n°2 will be with 15 ifram displaying the landing page of the CPA product (with my aff code in it)

If I'm correct, my stats will look like this:
website unique visitor: 10 000
visitor banner click: 100
product sell: 1

Does it make sens to you guys or I have something/all wrong ?

Thanks for your help !!!!!!

Good exploits for physical access? v. newb questions

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 03:05 PM PDT

I'm a complete newb, and I've got a backup machine running XP as well as a backup drive on this build with XP that i'd like to practice on.
The os i'm using here is Windows 7, but I'd rather not practice on it.

What i'd like to do is start out with some basic exploit(s) running off of a USB stick.

Remote access? Maybe trojans, rootkits?

I've been reading basic hacking news for a few years, so I have some understanding of the basics, but that's about it.

And I've started tinkering with Python, which so far is easy enough.

Where do you store your ideas?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 02:48 PM PDT

I'm just wondering where you guys store your ideas and notes? Do you have a chalk board? A white, dry erase board? A bulletin board to post all your print outs? Or are you old school and just put them on a notepad?

I'm interested in what you guys use as my brain is overflowing and I need to write some more stuff down to start remembering.

Thanks

Is there a difference, where you register your domain and where you set up the account for Adwords ? Lets say, ill let someone do both in China and run the AD for me ? Would it work, or no difference ?

Overall, ADs and keywords, Google keeps banning, whats the key of getting them to run for a longer period of time ? By that, i mean longer then 24 hrs :)

Best way to optimize article?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 02:25 PM PDT

I've seen lost of services on here offering different things like backlinking by blog commenting, social book marking.

Assuming I have my article and keywords ready to go, just wondering where best to put my dollars.

Also I've seen requirements like:

description
url
keyword1
keyword2
keyword3

sometimes

url1: keyword1
url2: keyword2
url3: keyword3

If I have an article that I want to rank really high for a keyword, whats the best way to go about this?

Would it be best to go for higher PR backlinks and setup a url like mydomain/some/article/here, with three keywords for that article?

So I paid for proxyru.com service. It's shit, everything in that site. I just got scammed. I read good reviews about it so I thought to give it a try.

the proxies don't work. only 1 in 10 or so works. the site interface is horrible, costumer support is just terrible, they (he) responds after a long time, there are only a few proxies. I couldn't even find any italian or french proxy...

My advice, don't waste money there. any other sites that offer proxy services ?
