Pretty noobie question, but does bookmarking improve serp results or is it more for getting your backlinks indexed?

I'm sure getitng a new backlink from a bookmarking site helps, so should it be part of my arsenal?

I know this is probably a really remedial concept, but I have found I need more of an understanding then I have been able to find on my own.

Conceptually, I understand what iFraming is using my novice programming skills, put together some test code to see it work, and everything was fine.

But from a black hat perspective, from what I've read, it seems as if you just want to iFrame a single field of the CPA form on to the site where the lead enters their info.

This is what I'm having trouble figuring out technically.
Could some one explain how you would code this or is there a thread that explains this (I searched and have not been able to find one)

I am trying to make a system that will ping GA via a proxy server, and also Alexa, to try to increase some rankings for a site.

Just a few questions:

1) Does anyone have any success increasing google rankings without links back to said site? I have heard Google checks analytics to assist their main PageRank algorithm, is this the case or am I wasting my time?

2) If so, does google only count the ping when the analytic 0x0 gif is hit, or does it require downloading the ga.js each time, registering _utm* cookies, then hitting?

3) Same as above for Alexa

Now part 2, as for proxies I found a few great sources for HTTP and Socks proxies (that shall remain nameless for now). I also am a web coder and good at db/cli stuff, so I dump my proxy sources into a database and wrote a small node.js app to proxy firefox through a proxy until it called a certain URL, then switched proxies and repeat. This is great with iMacros for doing hits, but fails miserably on HTTPS requests, and also does not allow me to empty firefox cookies. Is there an app that can download a csv off the net (which I can provide location to), then rotate proxies with use with iMacros ala IPRental? Does anyone have any expirience doing all of the above with, say, node.js and jsdom? Am I completely misinformed on how all this works and wasting my time?

If someone has a better service to offer, or is interested in helping me develop this solution better for perhaps free access to my proxy rotator, PM me, otherwise general comments are welcome in this thread.

I've been looking at the idea of getting a few PLR blogs and setting them up with WP-Robot AutoBlog to pretty much automate them completely. I have done quite a bit of research on the subject (relativity speaking) and now would like your opinions on a few things.
I see that most PLRs come with 10 or so articles, site content, pics, affiliate/adsense ads, videos, pretty much the full set up, this looks great since the worst part of IM for me is generating content from scratch. I am well aware that the content ALL needs to be heavily modified and rewritten, so just assume that any site I put up has had a full content makeover and now contains copyscape passed "original" content.

Now for the questions portion of this post...

• Is it realistic to think that this method could be lucrative, or are these PLR sites mass produced in such great numbers that they no longer generate a profit?
• Is it reasonable to think that I could rank on some low competition keywords fairly quickly with one of these sites? I mean if all the content is reritten would i still get penelized by google and other serps for having the same sourcecode in all other aspects besides content?
• Which monitization method would (in your opinion) be better for this particular method, adsense or affiliate, Im leaning towards adsense but I'm not sold on it yet.
• Most places I look at all sell the same PLR sites. While I understand the resell rights tactic however I would like to avoid using the same site thousands of other marketers have bought and set up. Do any of you know where I can find some more unique PLR blogs? I would like to avoid the most comonly used themes for these type of sites to avoid being generalized by the SERPS as..well..what I am...A bull sh*t autoblog.
• Are there any FREE PLR sites available on the web (im going to check the downloads section as soon as I post this, so if there are some there feel free to point them out but dont throw the burner at me because I'm headed over there now)
• Advice on autoblogging these sites "safely"?

OK I have a forum that has 4 areas and 1 area is specifically setup for articles that are unique and written by the members, the other areas are basically for news articles and such from other sites.

Should I allow Google in just the area for unique content as I can then target select keywords easier and get better payouts? Or should I keep going like I have with Google having access to most of the board?

There is another thread on BHW right now where everyone is talking about their favorite plugins. One of my most favorite is one I wrote myself. It is a very simple widget that posts categories in a siloed way.

What is siloing?

Lets say you own an automotive website. Which would you rather have linking to you, 10 websites that are all about automotive, or 10 about random subjects like making money online or health niches, etc? Everyone should say they want automotive sites linking -- because that is more relevant to your niche.

It works exactly the same with your internal pages. Did you know that your pages can rank really well based off nothing but your internal linking structure? The goal then becomes to have your most related pages on your website linking to only your other most related pages.

Assume for a moment that you are trying to make an authority health-related website. You are starting with 3 main subjects, losing weight, yoga and biking (but eventually you may have 30 or more). To properly silo your website, all of your losing weight pages will only interlink between other losing weight pages. All your yoga will only interlink with other yoga. All your biking will only interlink with other biking. This will make it as though your domain has 3 different websites contained within it, where the only connections between the 3 are 1 link pointing to the root category.

This is NOT the way it works in wordpress by default. By default, wordpress will link to all categories and subcategories on all pages. The theory with siloing is that doing this dilutes your internal linking structure.

If you have a large website (100 or more posts) and you implement siloing, theoretically you will be cutting down internal linking by over 50% or more, and the remaining links that exist will be more powerful and relevant.

Ok so now you know what siloing is. Now, how do you do it? I looked all over for a decent siloing plugin but I couldn't find one, so I wrote it myself.

In your plugins folder, make a folder named "silo". Paste this file inside, call it silo-categories.php.

Next, activate the plugin. It then becomes a widget. Go to widgets, and drag and drop the "silo" widget to wherever your "categories" widget is, and delete your "categories" widget from your sidebar. The silo widget will function just like your category widget, only siloed as explained above.

I'd like to emphasize that siloing is only for large websites. If you have 50 or less pages, siloing is not going to do you any good. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm using a genesis lifestyle theme I got here and there is a latest posts widget on the homepage that displays recent posts from multiple categories. There is a categories nav widget that will put links to your categories at the bottom but I would like a nav menu that I saw here and they are using the same theme.

Just thinking... I know even paying month-by-month on Hostgator's Hatchling plan it is only $9. Most uneducated people with websites are paying more than that on Yahoo hosting and such.

So would it be rude next time I speak to a business owner to ask them how much they pay monthly for web hosting? Or could it seem like I am criticizing them too much.

Because remember Hostgator pays $100/signup and even if you don't like them you can also do reseller. That way you are saving the business owner money and making some yourself.

Hey guys. I'm on heatmap theme right now and it's working great, just one issue. I want to test my ad placement and want to put the 336X280 adsense block before my content, below the title. Heatmap has the widget for this but the problem is that I can't center it. The ad is always aligning to the left. I've tried doing these:

With that in mind, we've now implemented a change to our initial review process that will result in a stronger AdSense network. Improving the quality of the network will drive more interest and demand from advertisers, increasing the earning potential for all of our publishers.

Starting today, we'll begin adding a new step to the review process and sending notifications at two key points. After a new application is submitted, we'll begin with preliminary checks on the site and the applicant's submitted details. If the application passes through this first stage, we'll notify the applicant by email, grant them account access, and provide them with ad code to place on their submitted site. It's essential at this stage for the applicant to place the ad code on their site, as the review process can't be completed until the ad code is implemented.
