seo company foul play or normal bot behavior?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 07:00 PM PDT

I did a back link check on a competitor site that is in the top 10 on Google. I reviewed some of the links their keywords were posted on and I made a shocking discovery. Before I started reading the BHW forum and doing offsite SEO myself I used to pay a SEO company to work on 2 different unrelated sites for me. Now when I checked the back links of this competitor site I noticed that the comments posted on the back links were using all the keywords I paid this seo company to work on and also the other project I paid the seo company to work on appeared on this back link comment too. I have confronted the company saying you are promoting competitor sites on purpose to push my clients websites down but they have replied saying

"theres bots taking other anchors and puting the same keywords. Its normal that bots repost content. Get used to bots reposting ur articles. I just tell u its pretty normal, theres bots that scrape other sites and replace links"

I did not renew the SEO contract with them so I think they are trying to push the sites down that I paid them to work on.. Am I paranoid? Is the explanation I got from them valid?

I just cant comprehend someone else setting up a bot to target the exact same keywords I gave exclusively to this seo company. What makes this even more suspicious is that both campaigns I gave to this company appear in the same blog comment.

Can the BHW shed some light on this? Do you think I am right to suspect foul play here or is it genuine a random bot decided to target the exact same campaigns I had created with this seo company?

A moment of silence please...

Battlepope's Noob Rehabilitation Program

Hello BHW! For my 30somethingth post I will be offering something special(not drugs, this time anyway) to the people out there that are frustrated and looking for a starting point, start up money, tools, and experience.

After my recent success I am currently running a little experiment designed to give back to the community and create more self sufficient members for the site that will hopefully have their own ideas and offers to contribute to the community down the road.

What I am offering is an opportunity for noobs (yes this is specifically for noobs, if you are already successfully promoting cpa networks and have your own site this is not for you) to work directly with me in order to learn more about what does and doesn't work as well as, eventually, helping them to get set up with their own sites and helping them come up with their own methods.

I do this in the hopes that it will cut down on spam in the forum related to people asking questions that have already been answered as well as attempting to keep noobs from being flamed in their own threads due to their lack of knowledge.

The program will be aimed at instructing participants on the basic concepts of IM and some of the simpler methods that are workable as well as assistance with creatively coming up with their own twists to use for the methods.

Participants will be paid based on the effort that they put in and will not receive the website, tools, and ongoing support unless they finish the program.

Due to the time that goes into instructing each individual I will only be accepting 5 applicants at one time. I will regularly be updating this thread on the status of the availability in the program. Participants and myself will also be reporting progress in the thread to keep those of you following the thread updated.

In order to apply for the program you will need to pm me your skype name. This will be done in a first come first serve basis. Anyone sending a pm and not included in program will be put on a waiting list.

Program cost: The program will cost only what time and effort you put into it.
Thank you

P.S. Do not post on thread asking to sign up, this is to be done through pm. If you do not have the required post count, then browse the forum for topics that interest you and comment/contribute to threads, you can hit ten posts in ten minutes i promise, just don't spam. Also, do not post asking for more details or my methods or you will be ignored. As previously stated this is an experiment, and it would not be much of an experiment if someone turns it into an ebook and sells it on DP and it becomes oversaturated.

If so, what kind of tools would you need/use and on which device?

Daily proxy list needed

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:35 PM PDT

Hi Guys,

I need a fresh list of about 500 proxies a day, with preferably 100+ .au proxies.
Each proxy will be used to visit 5-6 sites (nothing illegal/dodgy).
Speed isn't a major issue as long as they are working.

Cloud Server + ScrapeBox?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:16 PM PDT

Hi

Thinking of going into cloud servers for scrapebox

can anyone explain how I would destroy a server (so I'm not charged per hr) then reactivate SB w/o needing to ask SB customer service for reactivation? Does the server automatically store a image of my data on its servers?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:12 PM PDT

Ok so I have 22,000 comments but I'm trying to clean them, I even tried importing um as HTML file in a browser, but it came out as one line.. They have HTML tags mixed with some markup for styling.. Also there's some numbers mixed into the front of some of the lines(12.) 13.) 14.) etc)along with some quotes. Find and replace wont cut it for this any ideas?

Ranking clients site or rank your own site?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:12 PM PDT

I'm getting a little mixed up regarding this offline SEO blueprint. I have a bunch of exact match citytrade.com domains that are starting to rank. At first I thought the business model was to rank the exact match domain and rent the advertising space.

But after reading around seems like people are offering to rank the clients website. I have ranked many exact match domains but haven't really tried anything else. How would you go about ranking a clients site for chosen keywords in this example:

Client is a dentist and has a domain name that does not contain any keywords. - BobsTeethService.com and wants to rank for keyword "city dentist".

Do you just start building links with "city dentist" anchors pointing to the homepage?

Or do you need to create an article section on his site and upload keyword rich articles targeting "city dentist" and backlink the articles?

Got some news today that I wasn't expecting...

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:08 PM PDT

My daughter came to me today, and told me something that I completely was not expecting.

Seems that, in about March of next year, I'm going to be a grandpa!

I don't think it has really sank in yet.

But the more I think on it, the more I kinda like the idea.

(Of course, the wife is overjoyed at the prospect of being a grandma. Big surprise there, right?)

I mean, I know, she is 21 and married, but the thought of becoming a grandparent just never really crossed my mind.

I know there are a lot of younger people on this forum, and more than a few parents, but, are there any grandparents in here?

Wonder what my daughter will say about me turning the child into a future Black Hatter?

:D

Sorry--

The funniest joke in the world

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.

He gasps: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says: "Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says: "OK, now what?"

Well that is actually the funniest joke in the world, I made the effort in looking this up. Just let me know if it made you laugh, or if you have a better one yourself! :D

JV: Need CL Poster (w4m) for dating offer.

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 04:51 PM PDT

Hi there,

PLEASE READ THIS POST FULLY BEFORE YOU ADD ME ON SKYPE.

I am currently with a private network where I am promoting a $30 dating offer. The dating offer involves the user putting in their credit card information for verification purposes.

I am in the process of buying and setting up Blackhatautoresponder. If you already have it and want to save me money, let me know.

The payout for the dating offer is $30. I will split it with you so you will be getting $15 per conversion.

The offer is ready to be promoted and I have a nice profile setup for the dating offer.

What I need from you: I just need someone with Craigslist experience to post ads around the United States (location does not matter) in the W4M section. Number of ads does not matter as long as it generates leads for the both of us.

If you are interested, please add me on Skype: jerzydawg101. If you have no experience with this, please do NOT ADD ME. You should have CLAD or another Craigslist program to do the work for you since manually posting isn't going to cut it. If you think you can do the job without CLAD and you have your own way of making accounts/preventing ghosting, let me know.

43rd Post Extravaganza!! Make A Fortune Selling Regionally Cool Products On eBay.something

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 04:30 PM PDT

FACT: Somebody that wants a pair of Addidas sneakers can get a pair from Addidas.com, right? Sure they could, but many don't Because they can always go to online trading sites like eBay. Why? Because from anywhere in the world, they can buy their sneakers to have them shipped to anywhere in the world and most often for less than retail.

BUT THINK REGIONALLY:
We Americans are slightly arrogant at times; calling the "World Series" of baseball the "World Series" while not allowing the entire rest of the World RSVP. We've even done the same with the web. We invented the .com did we not? By American standards, shouldn't there be only one eBay: our eBay?

The fact is that there are many eBays. They are not quite as big and well known, but they do exist. Plenty of people use regional sites like eBay.co.uk or eBay.de. Also, plenty of people use plenty of other popular (non 3bay) regional buying/selling sites to buy and sell sneakers, but I'll leave that for you to figure out (can't give away everything).

Most sneakers sellers pay no mind to regional sites because they think that these sites don't have enough traffic or the sellers don't use them because of the language barrier; or worse, sellers forgot that the rest of the World is full of people who buy sneakers. You think that would stop somebody from buying a pair on ebay.com or ebay.co.uk? No:

I hope you are not one of those I described above because, there are still people buying and and selling sneakers all over these regional sites whether or not you are a part of the sale or not. Maybe something you need to start thinking about.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY?:
The fact is anyone can get buy anything they want from anywhere for less, right? WRONG!

AWESOME "REGIONAL" SEGUE:
You live somewhere, right? Do you have a local (by local I mean country) brand or product(s) that are obtainable only where you live? Sure you do. There are many companies selling many products that operate regionally and exclusively. Some of these companies operate the way that they do because that by being regional and exclusive, they create enormous demand for their brands and products.

WHAT'S IN DEMAND & WHERE?
Once you have found your something (no you can't have my something), the trick is to find somewhere else where this something is very scarce or next to unattainable, but extremely desirable.

MAKE MONEY METHOD: TIE THE TWO TOGETHER:
  • Where you live, find a brand/product that is exclusive to your region. Then find a region where this product is RARE and very, extremely popular and/or in demand (preferably both).
  • Everyone knows that everyone can (I SAID "CAN" NOT "DOES") shop on eBay, but many use local sites. Go to the site where your product is in demand and sell it there (NOT the big sites).
As if I didn't put this whole method on a silver platter:

A POTENTIAL MARKET:
There are many, many, MANY potential markets with varying degrees of profitability. Two perfect examples:
  • Small(ish) cost/profit example: Petoskey Stone jewelry. These stones are only found in and around the Great Lakes. Sold to past, current and future tourists from all over the world.
  • Very large cost/profit example: 1st & 2nd Generation Nissan Skylines. Never sold in most countries. VERY limited (usually only with license) exports. Used cars selling at new-off-the-line prices in N. America.
THE BUSINESS END (IN ACTION):
If you can't figure out where to go from here... well, I guess I can break it down some more because I am a nice guy and I may get some thanks and rep for doing so. Here is a chat transcript with one of my guys that explains "how it works" better than I could hope to "sum up"

The chat transcript that you are about to read is real. Only names and a small amount of content (*) has been edited for edited for privacy and clarification purposes - and to remove BHW smilies. (Note: I have not edited the chat of the second party). Note: I am giving away the method by posting this.

  • ME: All you do is sell a super popular product line on eBay.
  • *&%*: Vero item?
  • ME: No and it's not fake. It's all real genuine stuff. There is no reason to sell fake stuff and risk your accounts (and create bad karma) when you can be just as profitable dealing in honest merchandise.
  • ME: It's VERY popular in *Germany*, but *it's not sold in or shipped to Germany*.
  • *&%*: awesome
  • ME: I get it from the actual store.
  • ME: *USA BASED STORE*
  • ME: All you do is sell stuff *on eBay*: I go to store and buy it, then ship it.
  • *&%*: aahh
  • ME: *I ship it* with full tags, receipts and everything else.
  • *&%*: awesome
  • ME: absolutely no fake products.
  • *&%*: what are the commissions?
  • ME: I will give you 10% for every product that sells.
  • *&%*: price of the products?
  • ME: Basically *We sell it for* 20% *of in store cost* ... because *there are no stores in Germany* and *also can't get shop on the STORE WEBSITE*, they are willing to pay a 20% markup, basically to have people do the shopping for them.
  • ME: The sellers with good feedback on eBay.de are selling 50+ items per day.
  • ME: Here is the deal: You have to list the stuff and manage the eBay end of things and I will do all of the shopping and shipping.
  • ME: We split the commission because we both do a good amount of work
  • *&%*: i have german friends with ebay accounts as well - maybe i will call my friends to sell this stuff as well.
  • *&%*: what do you think?
  • ME: That's fine. Like I said, this is all real stuff... I send the sales-slips with the actual items... more to satisfy customs than anything, but also buyers like to know that what they are getting is genuine. *Items that sell with tags and sales receipts sell faster and at MUCH higher rates than those without*
  • *&%*: you have examples listed on ebay?
  • ME: wait 1
  • *&%*: ok
  • ME: This is all ONE STORE selling *STORE NAME*
  • ME: *SEE SCREENSHOT*
  • *&%*: is it your client?
  • ME: No. This is *someone doing exactly what we're talking about*... I hope to copy their success with the help of a reputable German speaking eBayer
  • ME: To be honest, I don't have the time to list everything on my own... That's why I am looking for a partner
  • ME: Someone who will list everything: take care of all the eBay/Paypal stuff and just send me a shopping list every couple of days.
  • ME: The EURO is about 36% stronger than the dollar at the moment, so *we list items at normal price*, only in EURO... About 16% to cover our cost and 20% profit... we split *profit* 50-50
  • ME: If the average order is 100 dollars, you get $10
  • ME: The items *cost* anywhere from 35EURO to 200EURO, but the average person orders 100 worth *of merchandise* (In most cases, they order a few items at a time).
  • ME: NO MATTER WHAT, at the end of the day, we will split *profit* 50/50.
  • ME: If we undercut the person that we are viewing (feedback page), even by a couple of EURO per item, we can become the biggest sellers... we will be making a few hundred EURO per day.
  • *&%*: im thinking about spreading it to multiple accounts.
  • ME: All items are real, *genuine, purchased from the store* . The reason that the seller we are viewing is making so much is because every time somebody checks the feedback, they see that everybody is ordering the same brand of item and they are all happy *with their purchases*.
  • ME: I am looking for one person to work with me on this.. not someone who is going to be selling fake stuff on the same account(s). *There is plenty of money in this real merchandise*
  • *&%*: what about when i import larger quantities from you and sell it from here
  • ME: Well, if you wanted to do that, you could sell it at whatever you want. I have done that with *STORE* "*TYPE*" cologne. It sells for over 100 EURO on eBay.de. I have sold that to Germans in bulk for them to sell online.
  • *&%*: hat is your price for larger quantities? you have catalog?
  • ME: *STORE*.com *It's not mine: It's the company's*
  • *&%*: can you send me a catalog with price list when i buy larger quantities?
  • ME: It's the same price. You cannot buy it in bulk. It comes from the actual store.
  • *&%*: maybe you get directly from their factory ;)
  • ME: There is no way to do that.... That is why the products sell for so much. They don't even have "bargain stores". *Stock that is not sold in official stores is destroyed*. That's why they are so "exclusive" *And because it's only sold in the USA*.ME: If you wanted to buy something in bulk that you could be absolutely sure will sell on eBay.de for a profit, it would be the *TYPE* cologne. It's costs 75.
  • ME: I would sell it to you for 80EURO and you could sell it for 100EURO or more.
  • ME: I will be leaving soon, but will be back online later... what do you think so far?
  • *&%*: hmm sounds good.. maybe i come back to you.
  • ME: Well the offer is still on BHW and I am updating it soon with screen shots and info.

So that's it people. Let me know if you have questions because I (or someone here) has answers. Again, if this helps you, there are buttons that say so. One yellow, one green depending on how much it helped you.

Revenue Sharing with Youtube

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 04:05 PM PDT

I just noticed on Youtube that I can now add my adsense account and get a share of the revenue from the ads shown on my videos.
How can your videos make money?

When you submit a video that is eligible for monetization, YouTube will place ads inside or near the video. You will earn a share of the revenue that is generated from ad impressions occurring when these videos are viewed.

Is this new?? I have never noticed it before!

Time to start cranking out some more videos!

I just purchased tbs these days and I notice they have daily limitations on how many articles you can spin per day.I try to spin 5k articles and some of them had the following message:

Code:

Your account has reached the daily query limit of $user[apimaxqueries].
I wasn't expecting that :)

From what i see on google some ppl didn't know about this and posted that message instead of the spinned article ...

Can use email marketing section, so ill post my questions here.

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 03:39 PM PDT

"can't" use email section, so I will post my question here and hopefully get some answers.

So I just tried to send a email to 200 customers through gmail to update them on the new stuff I will be selling. About half didn't go through because google thinks I'm sending spam. Is there any software or program that let me send 200~500 emails at once? My emails are all legit, no spam and all the customers know me. I would hate to send email to 10 people at once and do it 100 times.

I don't have any skills so I can't be Hax. I'm sure Hax is a pretty cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything but I am not him!

Looking for Affiliates for a New Product

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 03:23 PM PDT

Hi

A client of mine who develops products which help disabled people has a new product they are trying to market. It is a bath seat which helps disabled children bathe. It has had very positive reviews at trade shows.

The product is being made in China.

I have setup an affiliate program for it through Paydotcom. It sells for US$499 (with free shipping) and we are offering affiliates US$75.00 per sale.

We can ship directly worldwide

If anyone is interested then PM me and I will give you the link to the website so you can check it out.

Has anyone had success selling similar physical products through an affiliate program? Any advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

Make it so traffic posts my link AND picture

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 03:21 PM PDT

if i'm using a facebook app that will make a user post on there wall about my fanpage, how do i make it so that there is a link AND picture of my fanpage for promotion purposes?

when i test my app it just posts the text link and no picture....but if i manually post the link to my wall it will post pictures as well. i'm even using the direct link instead of a short link.

is there anyway to have it automatically have a picture as well?

I have a website I bought back in march, wrote 4 articles for it, made sure all on page seo was good, and left it till around june. started doing some small backlinking, trying services and such and i danced super hard so I forgot about it and started some other projects. It has since settled at #17. I've just recently sent a bl pyramid to the site and about 50 .edu/.gov links. I plan on submitting it to a bunch of article directory sites soon with a nice AMR blast but i'm afraid i'm doing too much in a short span of time. should I wait and see how my rankings are effected or should i continue on with my seo plan?

Is this KW really easy to rank?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 02:56 PM PDT

I found a KW with 7k exact US local searches.

EMD.com is available.

TT says it's relatively easy, but it looks so much harder than it says.

Is it a waste of time trying to rank for it?

What is your fiverr conversion rate?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 02:54 PM PDT

Hey,

I just started to make some fiverr gigs with some of the tools I got to see if I could
get some quick easy gigs to do daily.

I was just wondering what your guys typical conversion rate is for how
many views your gig gets?

For example:
100 views = how many sales?

I know this will be different for everyone but I was just curious about most peoples.

What are Web 2.0 Properties and Tiers?

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 02:44 PM PDT

For link wheeling or link pushing (as I just learned here)... do the web 2.0 properties need to be my own domains/websites? Also, if someone can answer my question below, if not, the short version of it --> with article marketing, do I submit one unique article to a single directory and then link to that directory from other directories and interlink between the other directories themselves? Is that how it works? OR do I need my own web 2.0 properties linking amongst each other? I'm EXTREMELY confused.

"I'm thinking about building link wheels for my site so I can get some PR juice for my keywords but would love some advice on how exactly to do that. This is what I get so far from reading posts here and other places:

-- Write article linking to your $ site with keywords as anchor text
-- Submit that article to high PR directorie(s)/site(s)/blog(s)/forum(s)
-- Ping all those links
-- Create many spun versions of the same article and submit to DIFFERENT directories/sites/blogs/forums
-- Link to the article with the $ making site anchor text in the spun articles but also link between the sites you submitted the spun versions to

Now, does that sound right or am I headed in the completely wrong direction? Anyone care to offer some guidance, it would be much appreciated!"

Suggest Service to Put me at # 1- Disclosing full site & Keywords being targeted.

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 01:49 PM PDT

Hello everyone, this all started out by me trying the Dripable free 7 day trial.

I used to work for a company and decided to try the trial on their website and see what the outcome would be and to test out the service. I called up my old boss and explained what i was doing, he didn't really understood all the tech stuff but did understand that I wanted to push him up on google rankings. The companies on page SEO really sucks, and I believe that is whats is really holding his site from really moving up the SERPs. He doesnot want to put in the time, money or effort to fix this. So I will see if it is possible to do it only with cheap services that are offered here on BHW.

Basic info:

Horrible on page SEO

website : accuwinderengineering . com

main keyword competition:

inanchor:”coil winding machine” = 605,000
intitle:”coil winding machine” = 22,200

Keyword 1: coil winder machine
keyword 2: coil winding machine

Traffic Travis Rank Tracker: 9/12/2011

keyword1: 19
Keyword2: 28

Market Samurai Rank Tracker: 9/12/2011

keyword1: 19
Keyword2: 33

SEO done :

Dripable 7 day trial + extended 5 day trial <--(on day 3 of 5) put him on spot Number 30.

I just purchased the Xtreme Angelas Paul Backlink service for $7

I will be spending $20 a week on services each time purchased a couple of days appart. I will be getting $10 from my ex boss and i will be puting in $10 to see where it goes.

Please recommend on any services that are cheap but good and would = $20 a week.

Any other advice is really appreciated. Will be updating.

Explanation of 'do follow'

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 01:48 PM PDT

Hey, I'm top on google for my niche, but I still don't understand what 'do follow' means exactly.

I get that it allowing a bot to move to the link, but what's the difference between no follow and do follow?

HOW do you determine if a link is no follow or do follow?

Help with my Question (Il pay the correct answer - $20)

I have a question I want to ask.

If I create a profile link on a PR 9 EDU website, will I get any juice? Is there any point? Because the ACTUAL PAGE of the profile will most likely be PR 0. But the actual domain of the website will be PR 9.

Will there be any point doing this?
