| Traffic disappeared after site being down 36 hours Posted: 18 Sep 2011 09:11 PM PDT Hey, Bluehost, suspended my site without really looking at it. They assumed it was a tube site, simply because of how it looked, even though its a Movie Review Site. They have since lifted the suspension, not even an apology. Typical BlueHost, over and over again. The site was down for about 36 hours and I have since moved to HostGator who aren't as Nazi about everything. My question is, my site was previously getting about 1500 uniques a day before it was suspended. Since being back up its only getting about 100... the first day anyway. All traffic was virtually google. Has anyone had anything similar happen to this? | |

So I've decided to start out by setting up some good quality Adsense sites to see if i can monetize them with ads and affiliate offers. I need some feedback on my site layout. I am using the HEATMAP template, but am wondering if I use too many ad units and it looks too cluttered if it will decrease my CTR or even worse get me banned by adsense. The people who are quiet on the forum, I'm talking less than 10 posts. The people who leave on Skype saying (in capital letters): "I AM HONESTLY VERY EXCITED TO BUY FROM YOU AND GET THIS GOING. CANNOT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW", never end up getting back to you. Maybe it's because those crazy people are just attracted to the next shiny object? They probably moved onto Forex or something crazy. I always posted my article links to StumbleUpon and gotten around a hundred hits over the day. Day before yesterday I posted a link and almost immediately I got just over 800 hits on the article. After that there were just 2 or 3 more. Yesterday normal hits. Today I put up a link to a new article on StumbleUpon and I got 892 within an hour on the article. Another 119 on a related article. :eek: Has something changed on StumbleUpon? Or just dumb luck? I am not doing marketing so I won't make any money but it is sure is fun. | |

| Malware/Adware can Really Slow Down your Pc/Laptop Posted: 18 Sep 2011 06:28 PM PDT I have an Hp Laptop - I always assumed it was sluggish because - the specs are not that Great - But it does its job. I have Avast Anti virus - what a Piece of Crap. so anyway I was watching Football today and my laptop starts acting weird chrome can't open.Windows becomes slow as hell. freezes alot - I manage to get it stable for a little bit and I start searching for a better anti virus. I figure the problem is malware,adware and spyware. So I downloaded Ad aware - because I read on an anti-virus forum its pretty good. Anyway I did a scan and it detected I had like 12 pieces of malware and I removed them. Holy Hell - Now my lap top is like 5 times Faster and internet is Epicly smooth. its very bizarre to me so if your laptop seems slow the problem might be malware like mine. I am sure others have had the same experience. | |

Some of the products are outdated, such as the Blackberry Pearl, and some of the products end up costing customers more than the retail value when you factor in shipping costs. I don't like the fact that buyers can only choose UPS for shipping, and I don't like the fact that I can't add other products to my website. At this point, I strongly wish I had done more research before signing up with them. I have had around 600 hits on my site...... no sales:-(. For those of you who have used EZDROPSHIP, have you had any success? This isn't so much a guide including methods of how to use Scrapebox as such, but more how to get the most out of Scrapebox as a whole package; methods can be imporved by using a little common sense and using these more advanced techniques. First of all, I'll start with something I lightly mentioned in the newbie tut, but did not explain; how to create good comments. This guide is only classed as intermediate as I am not a long term user of Scrapebox - I am not an advanced user. But this does shine a lgiht on a lot of my knowledge, which I think is quite extensive. Comments: The most important feature to make comments work for you is to use spintax. This feature allows us to utilize one spintax'd comment to produce hundreds or thousands of different comments. The way we implemented Spintax is as follows: Code: I {like|love} your {site|website|blog}, what {font|background image|Wordpress theme} do you use?Code: I like your blog, what background image do you use?One word in the curly brackets is randomly selected, and a comment is spun. This is the most vital part of making good, high success rate comments. But there's more! Scrapebox is not a stupid tool, and can and will work in real time with the page it is on to create a unique comment. This can cleverly make the comment seem like it could have only been written by a person! A number of operators will take information from a website and use it within the comment. It's better that you read on to get a good understanding of this, it's hard to explain verbally. Here's the list of the comment operations you can use with Scrapebox:

Should I scrapebox the frack outta the site? I feel so lost with an arcade site. I am trying to continually upload new games that I find on the internet but its proving little help to increase traffic. I have about 600+ games on there as of now. Its crazy I have some video intros on fiverr and there are a couple people with the exact same intro some are doing worse than me and others are doing WAY better. I've got signed up to AdSense and accepted but I don't know how to research which keywords to target. Posted: 18 Sep 2011 03:28 PM PDT I have realized that most web content sort of sucks, and I don't mean the content of sites specifically designed to rank for certain keywords. I recently started trying to rank for a low competition keyword in the financial sector, and while examining the competing sites for an array of keywords I started to really scratch my head and wonder if these large, authority sites have any idea what their target audience is. For example, go Google "what is a _________" and insert any type of investment. if you read most of the results, the pages all contain definitions and descriptions that require a fairly intense level of previous knowledge and investing experience to understand. However, experienced investors or people knowledgeable about finance are not the people who are going to be searching for basic explanations. Overly complicated or technically detailed explanations actually only serve to drive away visitors. It is basic psychology; people want to have their feelings validated. If they have a question about something, and the first responses that they find confuse them, then it is only going to agitate them more, and make them instantly hit the back button. When someone has a question about something, especially a complicated topic, the first thing they want to hear is that other people also have the same question, or that confusion about the topic is common. This type of response validates their feelings and increases the amount of time that they are likely to spend on a certain page. Make sure the first few lines of any webpage don't alienate your target audience. Simple way to increase the time people spend on your individual pages. | |
