Posted: 08 Jun 2011 08:47 PM PDT

hey guys,
i recently found some very good keywords to use for ppc but im not sure how to monetize it. the root keyword is an antibiotic, and the keyword i will be targetting is side effects. i know adsense is probably the easiest way to monetize this but i feel like if there are any other ways to monetize it, it would make more money.

Need Help From The Vets

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 07:59 PM PDT

Hey guys,
A little bit about me, I am a 19 year old college student, from about 14 years old I've always loved building website, actually built my own server in my house when I was 15 and had a dynamic ip so I had it linked to an auto update script to point to a web domain...I am now 19 and have a lot more experience but getting into the game of SEO. I currently operate a Media Temple server with about 12 domains on it, all functional.

My latest niche site is a bodybuilding site: (put an e for the *)
hittherack.n*t/

I've been using Dripable on it with linklicious, manually submitting to directories, every page has keywords, meta tags/descripts, etc (for the most part). I am putting unique content on the userblogs....and having it auto pull RSS feeds from major bodybuilding blogs to my site. Also having the RSS pull the articles into my forum as well. Taking supplement reviews off various sites, and adsense hooked up.... I set up twitter to auto post (not spam) a few times a day for keywords to retweet to people.

This site is actually meant to grow its community and really be something I am really into bodybuilding as well. I have about 50 unique visitors a day. I am urning anywhere from .25cents to $1 a day from the ad's.

So my questions to the vets:
-Do you think the template is too cluttered and unorganized?
-For the past 2 weeks it hasnt really moved anywhere still really low keyword ranked.
-How would you guys go about pushing this up for the bodybuilding niche?
-Any advice is much appreciated....

I like to learn so please help me out guys!

Trademarks and DMCA

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 07:18 PM PDT

So.. let's say I have a trademark on

Mike's silly service.

There was formerly a Mike's silly service that went out of business and let their trademark expire allowing me to register it.

However the information still exists all over the internet with "Mike's silly service 212-xxx-xxxx" How do I get all these sites to either take down the listings or change them to mine?

File DMCA with all of the site's registras?

Any other ideas?

Scrapebox Unlock IP feature not working

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 07:16 PM PDT

I can't seem to find anything related to this problem. When I bought scrapebox awhile back the Unlock IP button worked fine but not long after it would not detect any Blocked IPs even though there were many in the list. It never really bothered me because I never need to unblock any but out of curiosity, I'd like to fix it.

Distributing article - linking to page on site

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 06:42 PM PDT

When I distribute an article to lots of article directories, is it better to link with the keyword that I want to rank for on my site right to the same keyword focused content page on my site, or to lots of different pages on my site?

Lets say I upload page to my site about red slippers and I distribute a different article about red slippers. Would it be more effective to spin the urls that are linked to on my site for diversity, or have the article always link to the red slipper page on my site?

Email Harvesting - not always a violation of CAN-SPAM

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 06:28 PM PDT

OK, so I was going over the CAN SPAM act a little bit ago to show someone in another thread that harvesting email's from craigslist is in violation of the law..

well, to my amazement it doesn't seem to be that way...

the section regarding Harvesting emails (subsection (b).1.(A) ) specificly gives this qualification:
that harvesting is unlawful and an aggravated violation if the email is already unlawful under susection (a) - that's the section that deals with opt-out, forged headers, postal adress, etc.

somefolks probably already knew this - but it was new to me.

My Site Came Back From The Dumps? Something Good Actually Happened?

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 06:19 PM PDT

About three months ago I made a small affiliate site for a certain Clickbank product. Since it was a small nitch and I had good onsite SEO, the site was in the top page of Google at #8 before even building backlinks.

I decided to try and move it up to the top (#1) so I bought a link package of about 18,000 backlinks. This was obviously a stupid idea since the domain was new, and the site got moved WAY down to somewhere on page 50.

I thought I had been sandboxed or something like that and basically just gave up.

Since then, I have used the site to host PHP files for my affiliate links in articles that I submitting to AMR. It was a basic script, all it did was redirect all BOTS (search engines included) to my sandboxed website and everything else to the affiliate products.

I have also submitted the site to some free Xrumer blasts that BHW members were offering (Thanks Guys!).

For a while, nothing happened. I asked about it on the forum and I was told it was just a Google Dance. After three months though, I didn't think this was likely (I thought dances lasted about two weeks though?).

Sure enough though, this morning I fired up my computer and find that my site is on the top page again at spot #5.

The problem is I don't know what made it move up. Maybe the link juice from the first 18,000 blast finally came through? Maybe it was my AMR articles? Maybe it was the Xrumer blasts? Or maybe the whole thing was just a dance and the links were irrelevant?

Any thought would be appreciated. I want to repeat this with other small sites and get the same results. Let me know what you think. :You_Rock_

How Do You Get To Number One From The Top 2-5?

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 06:07 PM PDT

Hey BHW!

So reading through this forum for the last few months I have seen a lot of people talking about getting top 5, but we all know that the difference from top 2-5 to a #1 is huge. So after getting your site into the top 5, what does it take for a decently competitive keyword to get the #1 and stick?

I have about 10 micro sites (15-30 pages) sitting in the top 5 but I can't seem to hold onto that number one. I am up against one competitor and he is a beast. His network of sites is in the 1000's and he has so much link authority to throw around every time I bump up to #2 or #1, he immediately takes me back a few spots in a week or two.

So BHW - What do you do to get to #1 and maintain it?

Thanks!

Best Way to Protect Files and Programming Designs When Contracting Work?

When using scrapebox to buffer sites. Do I need anchor text

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 04:57 PM PDT

I want to blast my large AA list using my AMR articles. The thing is, I want to add all the articles in at a time, so probably about 2000. I don't want to go to each row and add a personalized anchor text for that category. Could I just names. Will it have an effect on how link juice is passed?

SEcond question regarding proxies. If I am posting to heavily spammed AA blogs, I am assuming they aren't checked regularly, so why not just skip proxies. My post will go faster and the blog won't block them. Is this right? or am i missing something?

Doing what you love vs. Doing what makes a living?

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 04:43 PM PDT

When I first discovered BHW, I was pretty much in my lowest of lows. I was pretty much living on the streets, and for a while I didn't know what I was going to do. Basically, I took a chance moving somewhere where I had NO support system (family), and had NO job.

Thankfully, I had found this as well as other places and forums, got the information I needed to at least get back on my feet at the time, and from there have started my journey in the wonderful world of IM.

Since IM took ALOT of time away from my MAIN passion (music), I have spent and sacrificed alot of my time away from doing what I TRULY love to continue to make a living. Because I absolutely Loth working in a job, working for myself has kept me sane. But I can't help but feel a deep, almost lingering depression whenever Im not working toward what I feel is my calling.

As a musician, I battle with this everyday.

In the past two months, I decided to try to put my time into another project online to expand my market share (and bank balance), but as I've gone through the testing phase of this next campaign, I'm starting to realize that I'm putting more time into something I had no intentions on making a career in the first place. Because the truth of the matter seems to me that, in most cases, if you want to succeed at something, you need to put both time and effort (and SOME money at first) in order to become widely successful at it, at least somewhat.

So I've come to a cross roads here. I'm still VERY passionate about music (been doing it ALL my life), and I've even moved to another state all together to pursue it. But I've notice myself getting cault up in making more and more money so I can "get ahead".

My question to you guys is this: Has anyone of you who started doing IM for one reason or another found yourself giving up what you love in order to do what you have to to survive?

If so, how did you manage to get back to doing what you love, and did you finally get a chance to make a living from it?

New Newbee... blogging

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 04:29 PM PDT

Hi all,
I've been here for a little bit, and decided to jump in and try some things out. What I have decided to do to see how things work is start 2 blogs - 1 on word press, and 1 on blogger. I did the key word search with google and found 2million hits on the main key term, others were much lower - I'll probally be back for help on seo for all the key terms. Although seo is a be part of why I'm jumping in.

I'm would like to start a twitter and facebook fan page for my own understanding of these.

the idea is write about things found on the i-net that match the keyword(s), post some copy right free pictures, and make some videos, and post them on youtube (re-directing people to the blogs).

I would like to generate $ from click-bank and other affilate programs listed with reviews. (I also need to read more on adwords...)

I would like to see $200 to $500 a month off this in the next 3-4 months.

This is all to fund other larger projects that I have in mind.

For those of you that have made some cash from blogging / cb, or affilate programs - is there any recommendations that I (a real new newbee) should be aware of / implement so that I'm not way way off course to begin with?

I don't know if I should share the keywords and stuff here, but you can email me or skype me, and I'll explain more there.

thanks for your time.

STEAL Youtube Traffic From People Caught Slipping!

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 04:09 PM PDT

Just another outside the box method that you guys should keep your eyes open for when doing whatever it is you do on Youtube.

Step 1: Browse older videos (preferably 1 year or older)
Step 2: Make sure the video has a link
Step 3: Click The Link To Check if anyone still owns the domain or if its open.
Step 4: If its open. Check how many views the video has. Check to see if people still comment on the video.
Step 5: Direct the people to an offer that has to do with the video or redirect to whatever page you would like.

Example: If it is a music video, direct them to a ringtone offer or something of that nature.

*SIDENOTE* You can also come up on myspace, facebook, twitter etc type accounts and that of course is a free domain to purchase!
Just extra traffic.

I just came up on decent URL on a video with 5 million views. Comments daily!

With my experience. You will get a good amount of traffic and good conversions. Whats the worst that can happen, you only get like 10-20 conversions a year? That will pay for the domain itself!!!!

Keep your eyes open!
Hope this helps!!!

Is it illegal?

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 04:06 PM PDT

Hi all,

I have a question about mass mailing.
If I buy a list with the user's sign up data like name, ip, location, and I send them email to my own LP to ask them to opt-in to my own list, is it considered illegal spamming?

I want to do mass emailing to increase my speed of getting subscribers since my PPC is slow. And I want to do it in the whitehat way.

max cpc reset to .01

Posted: 08 Jun 2011 03:44 PM PDT

question- when i run out of funds or pause a google campaign- you know how it resets the max cpc (auto),.. and takes time to to move from .01 to XX (whatever max cpc is set to)... is there any way to speed it up? i was stuck at .01 yesterday, today .02 - and i have set much higher...

usually i thought it had been taking less than a day to start moving back up to a decent bid amount.

manual setting perhaps?
