My problem is, as you can imagine, I am not from US. First of all, am I supposed to actually use a fake name at paypal? But if they caught, wont the money be blocked?

I am an marketing consultant for a medium-size online retailer and have spent gobs and gobs of time investigating funny traffic patterns that began appearing in 2008. I am hoping to piece together some more clues with some of your help. I suspect the bad economy was a catalyst for a shift within spyware/adware affiliate marketing. I have lots of interesting data... here are a few tidbits.

I spliced together an Alexa chart for "Daily Reach" that spans nearly 4 years and I attached it to this message post. I know for a fact that every one of the companies displayed on the graph has separate owners... some of them aren't friendly to each other. I also have a catalog of invoice numbers from each of them, collected over time. The acceleration of Alexa traffic corresponds to an acceleration of actual order volume. However, the top performers are not getting the same quality of traffic. The ratio of real order counts versus "Alexa reach" is not as strong as it used to be. I also have good evidence that all of the companies (with heavier traffic) have become increasingly profitable since 2008. 3 out of the 4 companies had nearly identical Alexa charts leading up to the end of 2008. I suspect they latched on to whatever the top guy (blue line) was doing.

The bottom performer (green line) is the only one that hasn't embraced affiliate marketing. Not only is their traffic less, but it has become very difficult for them to stay in business (they were making a killing in 2005-2008). Amazingly, a graph depicting their the drop in "AdWords Conversion Rates" is nearly a reflection to the competitor's Alexa charts.

I just picked one industry as an example here... but I have seen similar patterns for other clients. The common denominator seems to be affiliate marketing.

I am a certified AdWords specialist and I have access to confidential "industry reports". Another amazing coincidence (or not) is that fact that Google's impressions have been rising heavily while the clicks have been steadily dropping. Of course, the avg. CPC continues to rise along side of the impressions. Again, these graphs line up closely to the Alexa charts.

I tried blasting thousands of dollars worth of impressions with TrafficVance and MediaTraffic and wasn't able to detect any blip on the Alexa chart. Whatever is causing this behavior is something else than traffic from 2 of the largest PPV players.

I have more data too... but to keep this message post reasonable, I have a theory. Let's see if anyone can poke holes in it or come up with a new explanation.

Something changed with affiliate marketing at the end of 2008. Google's servers are increasingly being used to generate search results, but spyware/adware is intercepting the clicks on a very large scale. Let's say there are some big players with control over tons of PC's. If they can prevent money from going to Google, it means more money is available to go to them. That explains why Google's "industry impressions" continue to rise and the clicks continue to fall. Because some companies are receiving semi-free traffic (with the affiliate's help), they can afford to bid more on AdWords.

I believe that any online retailer who isn't willing to shell out commissions now days is doomed. It is hard to convince a client to start up an affiliate marketing program because there is sooo much cookie stuffing going on (which poaches on repeat business). How long does it take for affiliate marketing to pay off? I have never launched an affiliate marketing program before.

I recently promoted an offer, and I noticed that I was getting hops to three different vendor accounts.

How is it that if I send people to a CB link, my affiliate account name is somehow passed to the other Clickbank links as well?

Example: I sent an email blast with the following link:

In doing so, I should see hops in my analytics that are all connected to the "bigassmoney" vendor account.

However, when I look, I'm also getting hops to "bigasscash" and "bigassdough." I get that the owner of the first one just probably has links to his others, but I am curious. How is it that it was able to pass my affiliate cookie to the other two?

I have created a music hosting/sharing website and I've been looking at all my options to drive traffic to it.

The website can create rss feeds of the latest uploads sorted by genre.

I was thinking of starting an autoblog for each genre of music, and having it create posts based on the newly uploaded files from the main site.

Example:

What I'm wondering is, what's the actual point of doing that?? I mean, is the idea really to just send that piece of spam, which was so obvious that even my grannie would recognize it as spam, to all the addresses in my contact list? Hello, I just started a furniture business and wanted to start adding some ads on craigslist to at least get my product out there. I tried doing the whitelist (sort of. lol) and even then I started getting stuff flagged and deleted. Let me break down my process real quick.

I had my account for over a year but never posted much, maybe twice. I went to list something and had to verify via text; i did that. Im now verified.

I manually posted about 7 ads. All different, all unique. 3 sectional sofa ads, 2 loveseat/sofa ads, and 2 coffee table ads. Boom. Everything went well.

Next day i tried doing the same thing but got the message that my posting was blocked because it matched the previous ones ( they were correct, i didnt know you had to wait a certain amount of time, i figured it was 24 hours. Wrong)

48 hours later, I read on here about someone just creating a jpeg from html. Boom. I did that and reposted at 7 ads. but now instead of text, im using img tags. Everything seems fine. 4 hours later, boom! I get one ad removed for violation, 15 mins later, same thing to another, 30 mins later same thing to a third. So now I have 4 left of the new ones.

Wake up this morning and see another was removed, 2 hours later another. Now I had 2 left and just logged in my account and deleted the last 2 cause i knew it would happen anyway.

So now all i have are my original 7 that I posted a few days ago which im sure by now will never get seen ever again on craigslist. lol.

This is something I've just started recently doing and have seen great results.

How To Get Free Articles:
1) Go to article directories like Ezine, Articlebase, GoArticles etc..
2) Use the search function and find articles related to your niche
3) Check the URL's of these articles to see if they are indexed by going on Google and by typing this in the Google search bar: site:url

This will tell you if the site is indexed. If nothing shows up you have your free article. Re-submit it to different directories, or use Article Marketing Robot for mass submissions.

There you go, great quality, no duplicate unique content articles. This is a great way to get high PR back links from article directories, just add your keyword to the article(s) and embed it with your link.

i looked at my biggest rivals, yet the keywords they look for get 49500 searches according to google keyword search, however according to google trends/insights they get hardly anything at all these keywords.. which should I listen to?
