Using Amazon EC2 as a proxy?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:46 PM PDT

I'm considering using Amazon EC2 as a proxy to scrape a website's live data through PHP/cURL. The website throttles based on IP. There are thousands of requests involved.. The requests need to be made live (as users search on my site) because the data changes throughout the day.

Is Amazon EC2 a good choice for a proxy here? Will scraping on their service draw Amazon's ire?

Note: This site isn't scraped by many people, so they're definitely not setup to block Amazon IP's specifically.

First, it is very fast, but just over 20 minutes after the interval. it is very slow.

http://www.optinadvertising.co.uk is a con - DO NOT USE!!

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:24 PM PDT

I can confirm optinadvertising.co.uk is a con.

The owner of optinadvertising is a Mr Andrew Burton. His business has been closed down several times, for instance search on companiesintheuk website and type into it datacorp and datacorp-management

The "Testimonials" on the website are fake - How you ask? 3G and Claimforfree could be anyone, but the other two websites belong to Mr Andrew Burton according to Whois.

On this forum ThePhantom and Datalord are both trying to promote this website, they are even friends on here (bless)
Using the username ThePhantom he has posted messages giving details of usernames that he has purchased, all advising on the whois report that they report to Mr Andrew Burton.
In many of Mr Burton posts he is asking people for cheap email lists, and even claims to have purchased lists at a very cheap price.

I then Googled optinadvertising and found EVERY good review of forum posted about this site linked back to Mr Burton. He has been placing fake reviews of this site to gain customers.
Using a site calling warriorforum he posted again using the username DataLord and promoting that business.

To make things worse, I have found him offering to buy email lists for next to nothing on the internet.
STAY AWAY - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!
I was close to buying from them, I done some quick research and it came back suspicious. PLEASE AVOID optinadvertising.co.uk - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Free Exact Match Micro Niche Domains

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:19 PM PDT

Hey there

I'm feeling generous. You may have seen my other threads offer the same, but those have all been "sold out" I guess you could say.

So here is 1 domain.
Code:

METALSCULPTURES.ORG
It is available to register on your favorite registrar for whoever is the first to read this.

However, for everyone else, I will give you your own domain. To get your domain, just reply here. Do not PM, as I don't need my inbox more full than it already is. If you PM, I won't sent one to you. So just reply and I'll send you one. Note: This service is free, so it's not going to be some premium service like my paid ones are, so your domains may include a brand name but they will still be profitable.

Best Route To Sending Multiple Emails Via Gmail

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:18 PM PDT

Ok...So, at the moment, I have an immediate need to send out quite a few (30+) emails via Gmail every day and I'm wondering if there's such a tool that would allow me to speed up the process?

At the moment, I'm having to copy/paste a specific template into Thunderbird, copy/paste in the recipients email and then 'send' the email.

Is there a tool that would allow me to drop in a mail-merge document, load up the email addresses and then send out 'x' number of emails say every :30 minutes or so?

I've been scouring every place I can think of but either the tool I'm looking for doesn't exist, or I'm not using the right search phrases.

Anyone know of such a tool, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

H2oBoy

My first Estore. Wordpress/OpenCart/Something else.

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:09 PM PDT

My first Estore. Wordpress/OpenCart/Something else.

So I have a product line,Domain,Hosting. all my site experience up until this point has been with Wordpress.

Someone suggested a killer looking theme from themeforest called Cartmania. They person who suggested it even gave me a rapid share link to download it. Being the legit guy I am (hey I try) I actually went and purchased the theme.

Spent 4 hours trying to install and get it set up..couldn't figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. Hired someone to straighten it out. It ended up the theme I purchased was only good up to a certain version of OpenCart and would not work with the latest version.

I wound up having an arguement with themeforest until they credited my themeforest account for the purchase price.

Now after having played with the back end of OpenCart I am not all that crazy about it. Seems to be cumbersome etc.

anyone have a recommendations on which direction I should go in here?

FREE backlinks giveaway for August!

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 06:04 PM PDT

Want some free backlinks?!?!?!

Free Backlinks Giveaway For August!

***Please read the entire thread before asking for backlinks.***
***This is not a sales thread.***

You Need At Least 50 Posts To Get Free Backlinks

I'll be creating 1,000 publicly viewable profiles with up to 3 backlinks in each profile (depending on the forum). This will result in up to 3,000 backlinks for each project.

You will get your URL as a link as well as your URL+Anchor as links.

Normally I only do 20 FREE orders for people but I was extremely busy last month and didn't have time to give out any backlinks. This month I'll be giving away 40 FREE projects to anyone with 50 quality posts so I can make up for missing last month!

If you don't have 50 quality posts then please go around the forum and add some quality content. And don't just post on threads saying "Thanks" "Great Post" "Awesome!" etc.

These backlinks will be created using xrumer. If you're afraid of xrumer then please don't ask for backlinks. On another note, if you're afraid of xrumer then you're a member of the wrong forum :D

Why am you giving away so many FREE backlinks?
Because I want to give back to the BHW community! I've already donated to the forum but I wanted to help out some members as well :)

These backlinks will be 100% FREE. You won't have to pay for them.

What do you gain from giving away free backlinks?
You can click on the "Thanks" button, "Give Rep" button, Give me a +1 iTrader, or you can just receive your backlinks and be on your marry way :)

What will you need from me?
Nothing yet.

If you're wanting some free backlinks then just comment on this thread and I'll send you a PM with a link to where you can fill out my form. The form will ask for your Name (can be a pen name), Email, URL, and Keywords.

DO NOT PM ME ASKING FOR BACKLINKS.
all PM's will be deleted on sight.

When Will I Receive A Report?
Well, I won't start any of the projects until I get all 20 members information. Why won't I start until then you ask? Because when I get all the information I'm going to program every order and let the projects run over night. And Yes, you'll get a report that shows each profile.

How can I get free backlinks?
Just comment on this thread saying something like "I want to get some FREE backlinks please!" and I will then PM you. If you're not one of the first 40 people with 50+ posts then I won't be PM'ing you.

ONLY 1 BLAST PER PERSON
YOU CANNOT HAVE 2+ OF THE 40 SPOTS AVAILABLE

I'll be doing this at the beginning of each month so if you're not 1 of the 20 (40 in August) lucky BHW members to get FREE backlinks then just wait until next month :D

Moderators/Administrators, if this is against your TOS let me know and I won't post this next month. Or if it's in the wrong section let me know where place it next month. Thanks :)

Dropshipping from Amazon to ebay... Taxes?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:55 PM PDT

Hi I have some items that through my promotional credit and my large gift card balance that I can sell a few on ebay and have shipped from Amazon for a profit. I am not a part of a business just selling a few items but they are over $1000. I am at a loss as far as what to do about taxes. The item is sold by amazon LC. Should I tax the states that Amazon taxes? Should I tax California buyers? (I notice a lot of listings saying they tax only CA. residents). Help would be very appreciated. Sorry if this is against a forum rule or something but I am moving into a new home and have no Internet yet so am asking here from my phone because a potential buyer asked me about cali taxes.

How to get BMD to report the actual URL of the bookmark, rather than just the profile?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:43 PM PDT

Currently, when I run a report of the links that I bookmarked, it outputs a file that contains the profile of the user I created, rather than the actually bookmark itself. Is there any way to make this output the actual URL?

Whats to do, build 1 bigger site or 10 smaller sites?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:21 PM PDT

I have 10 keywords that are all in the same niche, household items, and each keyword gets about 3-4K each, and each KW has a few long tail keywords as well. Would you build one bigger site that included all these keywords, or would you build 10 individual MNS? The only thing Im worried about is with one site I wont get the advantage of an EMD.

Whats your thoughts?

Offline - 30%+ Lead Conversion Rate (Theoretically)

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:19 PM PDT

Sorry for the "Theoretically" part, but im sure you will all agree. Besides, I was going to actually do this myself and THEN share with you guys but that would be a while.

So heres my idea.

We all know cold calling is hard and that its a numbers game. Anything with offline is a numbers game really. The bigger your get your word out the better.

I remember when postcards where all the rage but slow (to research and write each one)

We also agree that if we where to hand write a personal letter and send it in a hand written envelope to our prospective clients that would be the best thing to do. I dont mean a hand writing computer font. An actual hand written letter. Like a love letter. But saying that they need a website and you can do it. bla bla bla.

We also agree that it would be high conversions. Everyone is going to read it, and most likely will call to find out more / to buy your service. Heck maybe even more than 30% conversion rate.

But again its still a numbers game. Imagine trying to write out 1000 personal letters. Personal like actually using the persons name and or company name, etc about them and their business. Then writing every envelope.

BUT

What if this was all automated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_0g3iL7WZc

But instead of that you can just use a basic cnc with a pen attachment. You can even make your own cnc from printers and scanners. Or just get a small one, theres loads of kits.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ES61MbSmpc

Just write a template and leave a few blanks for the names etc scan it in, convert it to a cnc pattern. Outsource someone to collect all the names and companys from what ever area. Load it into a spread sheet. Click Go. Come back an hour later and you have your 1000 hand written letters and envelopes.

CL Bot & Re-Verifying

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:14 PM PDT

OK - using CL Bot Pro.

In the event that I have to re-verify a phone, CL Bot will fill in the phone number and go to the next page where it asks to input the verification number.

THEN - it doesn't seem to wait.. it goes right on past and tries the next account in sequence.

Any idea why the program doesn't stop at the verify screen until the code is entered? Seems like this makes using this program pointless.

Hey Clickbank, wtf?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 05:10 PM PDT

Did you guys check out their new client contract?

http://www.clickbank.com/help/vendor...al-guidelines/

ClickBank has developed these guidelines to help vendors better understand what kinds of messaging, claims, imagery and testimonials can and cannot be used on ClickBank vendor “Pitch Pages” and other promotional material. These are general guidelines and are intended to supplement the information provided in our Client Contract. Promotional/sales messaging and material is always subject to approval by our Business Services team. Please note that these guidelines may be amended or updated at any time.

1. Testimonials and Endorsements
All use of testimonials and endorsements must comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines. This means that vendors cannot use false and deceptive statements in their written promotions or their video promotions. All specific advertising claims about a product’s performance or quality must be capable of substantiation—that is they must be real examples based on actual experiences. A statement that not all consumers will get the same results is not enough to qualify a claim. Testimonials and endorsements can’t be used to make a claim that the advertiser itself cannot substantiate.

Connections between an endorser and the vendor that are unclear or unexpected to a customer also must be disclosed, whether they have to do with a financial arrangement for a favorable endorsement, a position with the vendor, or stock ownership. Expert endorsements must be based on appropriate tests or evaluations performed by people that have mastered the subject matter. This means vendors cannot have actors (paid or unpaid) pretending to be someone they are not as part of a product endorsement. Also, affiliates cannot pose as neutral third parties evaluating two products so they make a commission on selling one of them.

Requirements:

Vendors must submit a script prior to shooting the video. Videos will not be accepted without a script pre-review.
We Will NOT Allow:

Videos that portray or reference a fictionalized individual or life story, where a vendor makes false claims as part of the product pitch.
Videos that portray or reference the vendor him or herself, where the vendor makes false claims about his earnings and experience as part of the product pitch.
Videos which will not allow viewers to exit or pause.
Expert endorsements without substantiation (for example, an endorsement from a doctor must have proof that the doctor has performed tests or evaluations performed and has mastered the subject matter being described in the pitch).
We Will Allow:

Videos and testimonials containing actors who portray consumers and describe their success using the product as long as the customer experience on the video accurately describes the performance of a “bona fide” customer and is associated with a disclaimer appearing with the actor making such a disclosure (ex: “Actor Portraying Real Purchaser”). Language may state “up to” a certain amount (so if some customers make $1000 and some make $500, you can use “up to $1000”), but should be based on a real customer who has an experience that is typical.
Videos and testimonials containing actors telling the vendor’s actual experience/story (either 1st or 3rd person). Must use a disclaimer that the person in the video is an actor representing the vendor’s actual experience.
Videos and testimonials containing a spokesperson describing the product’s actual attributes (must use a disclaimer).
Videos and testimonials containing an actual customer telling their actual story (does not require a disclaimer, but vendor must have signed documentation from the customer on hand in the event a regulatory agency would want proof that the story is a customer’s actual experience).
Videos and testimonials containing the actual vendor telling his/her actual story (does not require a disclaimer).
Again, any claims contained in the video must be able to be substantiated. ClickBank does not have to have the proof in hand, but the vendor must understand that if the FTC, private litigant or other agency asks for it, the vendor must have proof to back up any claim made in the vendor’s video.

2. False Scarcity

We Will NOT Allow:

False scarcity messaging when there is no actual scarcity of the product (for example, “Only 300 copies” when there are unlimited copies, tickers running down the amount of time there is to purchase, and listing that this is a one-time opportunity TODAY only). Bolded words for the “one-time opportunity TODAY only” are the key differences to what is accepted below.

We Will Allow:

Messaging that states that the offer is available for the next “xx” amount of time (such as, “If you order in the next ten minutes, you will get …” or “Order today for this amazing opportunity”), as long as there is no messaging that states that the offer is ONLY available for that short time, or that it is a one-time opportunity or chance to purchase when there will be other opportunities available.
Scarcity messaging used when there are actual limitations to the quantity or time that is communicated to ClickBank during the Product Approval Process. ClickBank will then monitor sales to ensure the sales are halted when the maximum number of limited products has been met or when the amount of time has expired. The offer can then be “reopened” again after 7 days.
3. Accurate Pricing

We Will NOT Allow:

Sale pricing that suggests that a product previously sold at a higher price (when it really didn’t) but is now on sale for a lower price for a limited time.

We Will Allow:

Real and genuine discounts from the normal price. Thus, if a vendor sold at $99 for a reasonable amount of time, it can drop the price to $79 and say, “$20 off!” The vendor cannot invent the $99 price, just to claim $79 is a sale price when it has always been sold for $79.
4. Upsells / One-Time Offers / Downsells

Requirements:

Initial product sold must be a standalone product of value. Any upsells or downsells must be enhancements to the initial product and must not be required to make the initial product work.
Decline links (“No Thank You” links) must be displayed clearly and conspicuously on the page:
Minimum of size 12 font,
Font in contrasting color to background color,
Decline link must be on the same page view as the “Accept” offer on a standard 1024 x 768 display (for example, no scrolling should be required if it is only to see the “No Thank You” link).
We Will NOT Allow:

More than 3 upsells (one time offers) and two exit offers for each sales flow.
5. Promotional Techniques
We Will NOT Allow:

Major brand/corporate logos on vendor Pitch Pages
and Thank You Pages:
Except credit card logos next to payment links.
Unauthorized use of the ClickBank logo. For authorized usage, see our Trademark Use Guidelines article.
Exceptions can be made when vendor has documented authorization from major brand or corporation.
Qualifying criteria when no qualifiers are truly necessary to purchase the product. Qualifying criteria must have a demonstrated disqualifying criteria.
Statements that infer that the product is significantly easier to use than it really is (for example, “one push button to make money” or “three simple words will provide you income”). ClickBank requires that pitches make reasonable attempts to reflect the actual effort required to achieve typical results. It is generally unreasonable to assume that someone with little or no experience in Internet marketing can achieve a 6-figure income with an hour or less of effort per day. It is more reasonable to assume that with attention, effort, and spare time, the average person with little or no Internet marketing experience can achieve a supplemental income.
“As Seen On… ” statements without documentation showing that the product was seen on the stations, TV shows and/or magazines that are listed (not required for the product approval, but will be asked if they have it to provide if requested).
6. Pricing
Requirements:

Prices must be presented clearly and conspicuously. For recurring billing products (including TRIALS + one rebill), the rebill schedule and pricing must be displayed clearly and conspicuously.
Minimum of size 12 font
Font in contrasting color to background color

Damn, are sales gonna drop like hell in future~

Email Marketing: Where to Start?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 04:51 PM PDT

Hi,

I've been wandering around this forum for quite a while and have been looking for ways to make money. I decided to try out email marketing. So, here are my plans of what I might do.

Plan One:
-Get Domains setup. Around 5-10 domains so that they rotate when sending emails.
-Get a VPS.
-Buy Scraped List that hasn't been used before
-Create Several Messages to make sure I don't hit the spam folder. As well as, avoid certain word choice such as "free" in my email messages.
-Find certain CPA networks that will turn there head around when I am sending bulk emails that may be deemed as non-compliant.
-Use Interspire<----Since everyone talks about it, as a mailer.
-Find 5-10 Hosting Services, for the 5-10 domains.

Plan Two:
-Outsource everything.... Forget mailing on my own. Finding someone else to mail for me.
-I get the domains, hosting, and creating messages for myself.

I am overwhelmed as in where to start. But, I am looking forward to all of this. Please let me know what you guys and gals think.

Adwords tip

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 04:40 PM PDT

I've been making some good bank with this for a few weeks now, so thought it time to spread the love

It may not work for all, but works very well in some niches - like mine, travel.

I'm targetting searches for phone numbers - eg "phone number for my competitor" , "phone number for travel company".

The ad cost is generally 1-4c and there is zero competition - every ad comes out on top.

It's giving me some good targeted ready to buy customers. Customers who think they are calling my competitors.

I'm directing them to a page on my site about the individual product - of which I have included my phone number in the page description. It's not giving me the highest clickthru - but our phonesales have gone through the roof.

And yes I know that I could simply optimise and market a page to do the same thing - but at 1-4c a click (when it's the impressions that are making money anyhow) why waste your time.

By the way I run an online travel agancy, but maybe this can work for other niches.

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 04:35 PM PDT

How do you think Google sees long pages (multiple posts), what's best, multiple posts per page or multiple pages with few posts (maybe 1-5)?

This doubt have come to my mind. Sometimes we may find pages that have like 7 posts, it could be a good number, yes, but if they are 7 articles with over 400 words the page is longer.

What is the ideal posts per page on a blog for Google's eyes or SEO purposes if any?

How does Word Press remember plug-in settings?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 04:22 PM PDT

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, so move it if you must. How does Word Press remember plug-in settings? If I have a plugin, Lets say WPRobot and set up a campaign then decide to remove the plugin and delete it. I go into Hostgator and delete the files there. Yet if I reinstall it even months later the settings are still there. How do I get rid of everything that has to do with a plugin so if I reinstall it it's like I never installed it before? Is it Hostgator, Wordpress, or on my computer?

Stupid Virtual Private Server (VPS) and Scrapebox Questions...

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 04:16 PM PDT

I bought a server from XSserver today. It's the $35 Windows 2003 version.

I just downloaded all the essential updates available for 2003 and turned the security for the web down to Medium (the lowest setting in IE8).

I tried to drag and drop Scrapebox to the server but it wouldn't work... so I downloaded it from my server. Am I doing something wrong? I can't drag and drop? I am logging in with:

Start -> Run -> mstsc.exe

So questions:

1. Should I upgrade IE8 to something else or add any plugins to it? It wanted to add Shockwave but I said no.

2. Add AVG Free?

3. Add Malwarebytes but only run on demand?

4. What can I use to test for upload/download speed?

5. What tool can I use to tweak the settings?

6. Is there a way to make a backup image so if something burps I can restore it to how it is now (pristine)?

7. Is there a way to log into my VPS with a Mac or iPad?

This is so freaking awesome! I wish I knew about VPSs before I bought a cheap computer last year. This thing will pay for itself in no time! :D

Anything else I might be missing?

So a few weeks ago I shared a case study on CPM, I thought id share another with a few details on how i plan my campaigns.

This time I shan't be sharing my advert as it is still converting well for me.

Typically I target no more than 15,000 people per advert, the reason being I want my target audience to have every opportunity to see the advert, think about it it is so easy to miss an advert so I like to play on Frequency.

This advert had a frequency of 11.5 which means each potential clicker had the advert displayed to them enough times for them notice it and to think about clicking it.

So keeping the target user numbers below 15,000 allows for a higher frequency.

When selecting my target audiences "interests" I like to add several related interests for example "dogs, Dog toys, Dog balls" (please don't go try targeting those people it is simply an example) The reason why is i found the target users with more of those interests on their profile where shown the advert very quickly and they where highly targeted. (I ran several adverts testing this, and every time my dummy Facebook account saw the advert with in minutes of the advert going live).

Right time for a picture, for those of you who are american I am sorry but the picture is all in GBP not dollars.

My bid for this campaign was £0.55 CPM.
As you can see i achieved a CPC of £0.008 (which is roughly $0.005 so 2 clicks per cent)

I hope this helps people as it has worked well for me.

Service that shares a link on a users facebook page

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:36 PM PDT

Does anyone know of such a service. So far I can only find individuals that will do it on fiverr but I need 500 and that is just too damn expensive.

Note: I am not talking about liking a page. I am wanting them to post my link to their homepage.

Want to Sell Your Website For a Premium Price? Let Me Help You!

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:36 PM PDT

Let me start off by saying I am NOT trying to compete with Thomas and Bryan's website brokering service here. Honestly, if you have the chance to work with them, go for it. They are more experienced than me in the website flipping business and have more ready-buyers than I do and would be great to work with.

However, I know they are both extremely busy and can't possibly take on every client that comes their way. So due to this, I am going to offer my own website brokering service for those of you that want your site sold for a premium.

In the past year I have sold somewhere around 75k worth of websites for myself and a few clients so I think I have been rather successful with it. I do a good amount of business through Flippa, but I also have a private list of buyers that are always ready to buy revenue-producing websites.

How my service works:

The way it would work is you will provide me with a few details about your site and I would take it from there. I would first pitch your site to my private buyer list, and if none of them were interested, I would proceed with listing it on Flippa and using my own expertise to get the site sold for as much as possible.

Once the sale is complete, I will take a percentage of the final sale price of the site. The percentage will vary depending on the sale price, but it will be between 10-20%. This is something that will be discussed if I take you on as a client.

Why go through me when you can list it on Flippa yourself?

That's a good question. The reason is, running an auction isn't as easy as it sounds. It's a very time-consuming process and there's a lot that goes into it to make the auction successful. You have to write good auction listing copy, know how to get the site in the "Most Active" section, answer tons of comments and questions, talk with potential buyers 1 on 1, complete buyer due diligence to make sure they aren't a scammer, know when to Feature the auction, and so on.

So as you can see, it's not just a "list it and forget it" type of thing. I am very hands-on with the selling process which is why I believe I have been able to fetch high amounts for the sites I have sold.

I also have a flawless Flippa rating and all my buyers have been very satisfied with their purchases. The social proof really helps people to trust me and makes them comfortable buying from me.

Requirements for me to work with you:
  • The site must be generating a minimum of $200 per month in revenue with most of it being profit. If it's making $200 but you're spending $190, it's hardly worth much.
  • You must be able to backup all traffic and revenue claims with legit screenshots. If you can't prove your claims, I will not work with you.
  • You will have to prove ownership of the site before we talk further. There's several easy ways to do this and we can cover them if I work with you.
Do NOT bother PMing me if:
  • The site isn't making a minimum of $200 per month net profit.
  • You're someone trying to artificially inflate traffic or revenue numbers or use fake screenshots (I can easily find out).
  • You cannot back up your revenue and traffic claims.
  • You're a scammer trying to rip someone off.
If this sounds like something you're interested in, please send me a PM with the following info:
  • Site URL
  • Average unique visitors per month
  • Average revenue per month (profit as well as gross revenue)
  • Source of traffic (Organic, paid, social, etc.)
  • Any other details you think will help
The more thorough you are in your application, the higher chance I will accept you.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to working with you guys.

Follow me on my 30 day journey as I try to match CodyTheBest using Adsense & Craig's List

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:36 PM PDT

So CodytheBest posted a method that he uses to generate at least $800 a month using Google Adsense. Here is the thread:

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackha...th-method.html

So I have decided to duplicate this method with a twist and record my 30 day journey using this method. I have already decided that if I make at least $200 this month without a ban, that its worth pursuing.

What you need is a Google Adsense account and Craig's List account to start as well as a domain name and hosting. I have an adsense account that is over 2 years old as well as a Craig's List account that's even older.

Day One: So I first did some research on the most popular searches on Craig's List and found these were the most popular:
Cars, Furniture, Real Estate, Computers/Tech, Baby, Phones and Tickets.

I decided to stick with the real estate market, but do something different that is still popular. (and no, I'm not going to tell you what that is. :)

I then did some research using the Google Keyword tool to find some long-tail keywords that have to do with my niche. Once I found a good keyword phrase, I purchased a .com domain using a $1 coupon that was posted on here for Godaddy. I also purchased private registration just in case some nosey-posey goes snooping around.

I already had hosting, so I set up my Wordpress site, but used a different theme than was given in the example. Still follows the same setup and concept, but just less cluttered.

I installed my usual wordpress plugins, but I also installed a plugin called 'wp-geolocation-js' which inserts the city in a post, page or template according to where your visitor is from. So say your site is called "Find Cars to Buy" you could set it up, so (for example) when a visitor comes from Atlanta the text reads, "Find Cars to Buy in Atlanta." Just makes it more personal in my opinion.

I wrote two original articles and put them on the front page. I also did a privacy policy, sitemap, and contact page. I put some filler widgets on the side, like a video from YouTube, tips etc. and then I installed my 3 Google Adsense Ads. I did not hide them or manipulate them in any way. I used text ads/links only. Make sure you have enough keyword rich content on your site, or the Google Adsense Ads won't show the links you want.

MAKE SURE YOU USE the 728x15 links ad at the top! Looking at my stats, this is the one getting the most clicks. Also make sure all of your Adsense Ads are above the fold.

Once my Wordpress site was ready, I started my ads on Craigs List. I did some research to see what the most popular cities were for my niche, and chose about 16 total. I manually posted 5 ads in five different cities last night, and 5 ads in 5 different cities this morning. You can either make your ads up and get pics from Google Images, or you can do what I did and go to a legitimate site with real ads and pictures and use those. Just copy and paste, switch up the verbiage a bit and Viola! you have convincing ad. After 3 days, I can simply reuse those ads and maybe switch up the verbiage a little bit. Another thing I did when I posted is that I used several hide referrer websites for my link to the site. So for example at the end of my ad I would say something like:

To buy this car, visit: <a href="http://www.referrerurl.com?http://findcarsforsale.com"><b>CARS FOR SALE IN MIAMI</b></a>

That way Google can't determine that your clicks are coming from CL.

So as I type this I have made almost $9.00 with a CTR of almost 15%. Not bad in only 19 hours and 10 ads.

To be continued...

Cladg Error ?!?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:29 PM PDT

I got this error today when I checked my campaign, and now I'm getting it again, I thought it was because of the proxy, but it seems it isn't, after 10 errors like this, all of them are on different ip.

8/8/2011 12:31:05 PM Site doesn't look like craigslist.org - either proxy is invalid, or html codes have changed

Any thoughts ?

Does Facebook "ghost" your status updates?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:27 PM PDT

So, I've got about 5 fan pages in similar niches, and with a single status update on all of them I was getting about $80-$100 a day with CPA ads.

I've been careful to keep most of my content relevant to the fans with only the occassional CPA ad being posted.

However, for the last 48 hours, I'm not getting ANY response or clicks on the status updates to my CPA pages.

Before that I would get a few dozen likes per page and at least 10 comments each.

But now - nothing.

Any idea why this would be happening? They're responding great to my regular status updates so it's not that they're just ignoring them.

I even tried changing domains and it's still happening.

Any ideas?

Best Host for Interspire on 10IPs and 10 Subdomains?

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 03:11 PM PDT

Who is the best host for the money, if I am using Interspire on 10 IPs and subdomains? I am going to be sending about 60k emails per day and want to be safe and rotate IPs/domains nicely. I have a big list, hence the need for 60k.

Can you all recommend an affordable VPS host that might be good for bulkmailing? Preferably one that doesn't ask a whole lot of questions about extra IPs.

Thanks.
