Just a quick info about me.

I am a young entrepreneur from Montreal (Canada) and currently working full time at a web dev company. I ve been in the online business since 2005. And yes, like anybody else who started in this field, I ve made many noob mistakes but I ve learned alot from them.
I ve learned not to:
- Hire friends...yes even your closest friends
- Spend your earned money on the spot like it was a big accomplishment
- Outsource tasks that you can do yourself
- Trust dropshipper companies
etc.

I've spent the money I earned in restaurants, traveling and other useless stuff when I could actually invested the money in the company and make even more. I always thought you can run a business alone while having a full time job... I was dead wrong. There are so many tasks to do that it will eventually discourage you at some point.

Many people will start an online store thinking they can make tons of money based on the cheap cost of their items. Little do they know they need to sacrifice time and give full commitment in order to achieve such goal.

These are what I think are the keys to success with online busineses (ecommerce in this case):

1- Have a strong team highly motivated as you are. I teamed up with a few of my friends that do not have the same view as me...except for money. Those people will give up easily and will even bash on you at a point to see you fail. I believe the motivation is different for each person.

2- Dont use crappy templates for your business. If you do, make sure you tweak it as much as you can to make it stand out of the crowd. You need to attract customers visually in order to make them stay on the site. Like anything in life, people tend to trust something by the appearance.

3- Make sure your site is secure with SSL certificate and that your admin side is highly protected. I ve visited many websites where you can easily access through www.domain.com/admin...At a few occasions they didnt even bother changing their default username/pass that is admin/admin. You need to show your customers that your business is secure and legit. You can show a security seal on the front page and checkout page to show that their security is your main priority.

4- Get a 800 numbers. It is pretty cheap nowdays and make it look like you are a big company. You need to level up your game and show that you are a serious company.

5- Be up to date with the latest technologies. If your business is online, you need to know what going on in the online world...Just dont jump on the first wagon as a follower...Use your own judgement of what is good and what is crap.

6- Have a strong marketing team. If people dont come to you, you need to go to them. You really need to be creative and think out of the box. One the main key of marketing is planning. Get to know the new trends, get ready for the holidays or any other big events. For example :

Students are going back to school again very soon. Prepare your campaign ahead of it. Get your contents and banners ready, know where and how you will run this, sync your campaign via social networks if needed (timing plays a crucial role in marketing). A successful marketing campaign is the one that will have the most impact at the cheapest cost. Just do the same thing for Black Friday, Christmas, father's day , Independance day etc.



7- I know many people hate this but "the client is always right"... You need to have good customer service towards your clients. I know sometimes we are sure the client is lying or just try to get free stuff from us. Always be helpful and try to find solutions. For example:

A client ordered a phone from you but it is not working well where he is located. Let's say he ordered a 4g phone from your HK contact and his phone is not compatible with his provider. You can always help him run another rom on the device in order to fix it. He dosent know how? assist him. This situation had really happened to me. This client eventually paid me extra to customize his device.

If the client is not happy with a product try to find any solutions you can think of, give free stuffs, specials price on the next purchased etc.

For a while ago I thought that since many of those products are not my niche I should just shared it with people on the board. I ve changed idea :)

I am a poor adsense advertiser. By poor I mean I have never done a good job making any money with it. So it has taken me over 5 years to accumulate about 90 bucks in adsense earnings, and they shut me down for fraud. I have not even done this. I sent out an email at work with my site in the signature. This went out to a lot of people in several states, but the ip's are only about three so I am guessing this is what google is pressed about. I place a large amount of orders on Amazon per month (couple of hundred on UK and the other European locales). I had contacted Amazon asking if they can give me any discounts considering the large volume of sales, but to no avail.

Now I am wondering if it would be a violation of the TOS if I placed my orders using the links of an affiliate (who would later split the commission with me). I have already learned that I cannot use my _own_ affiliate links but what if they were someone else's... If this would not be a TOS violation and someone is interested in cooperating please let me know...

I had a video stuck at 3500 views for about a week. Then today the view count went down 973 views on youtube. The insight stats didn't match the view count at first due to that panda update mess, so I have been slowly adding views to make the stats match the youtube view count. But today it dropped down 973 views.

Hi, this is a method i use to get free views on YouTube, Iv'e seen a few people selling big amounts of views, well you can get a few hundred as you sleep if you dont have money to be buying views, there might be better free methods, there probably is, so maybe people can post better methods, im new to IM, and this might help out people on the same boat.

+ Search for 'reload every' plug in
+ Get behind a proxie (optional)
Once the plug in is installed, right click on the YouTube page, you can set it to reload every 5 seconds,10 seconds,15 seconds, you can enable it on every tab if you wish, and you cna also randomise the refresh rate.
I usually open up a few tabs on whatever videos i need views on, set the plug in to randomise at the end of the night, minimise my browser then do whatever, cod, sandwich, smoke,bed usually,ha.

I was using a SEO extension for google chrome earlier and it pulled like the keyword density of my blog. Some of the keywords that it pulled were random words from my articles and I was not aiming for those keywords.

Okay so heres my question, when looking at my top 3 competition in google for a keyword im thinking about targeting the pages, which are not the home pages, only have 10 to 20 links. However the domain may have a thousand. Does the amount of links the domain has have a big effect on how hard it will be to outrank it. In otherwords should it take much effort to outrank these pages that only have in some cases single digit backlink numbers? Thanks for your help

I need something for Wordpress that will let me control access to a secret area for sub affiliates who sign up for various affiliate programs under me. How are you guys doing this? Do you use a paid membership plugin but instead of payment, you go in and manually add people to a special "paid" equivalent group? Or is there a better way to do this?

I want to setup some forums and a few other things that you can only get to if I verify you signed up under me and add you to a group or something.

Further, do you get these people on an email list and upsell them marketing stuff? Does it work or is the return not worth the effort?

edit: Wanted to add I should clarify what I mean by does it work/worth the effort. The whole point is to build an army, ok perhaps a small tactical team, of affiliates who will actually sell stuff/make conversions. I guess what I'm wondering is is it a waste of time to build such a list because the people who matter are wise enough that you won't make anything on the back end, or is it worth it knowing that there are enough idiots who will sign up? :-)

Hey guys so i was about to make a new adsense website and i did some research on my competition using backlink watch. Backlink watch is showing that the first 3 pages that i'm competing against have only 18, 43, and 23 backlinks and they are all pretty low quality. First off i want to ask if backlinkwatch is accurate enough for my purposes, ifyou use another free backlink checker could u point me in that direction.

My other questionhas to do about how the backlinks to a homepage affects the rankings of internal pages. For example if i see a page ranking with only 5 backlinks but the homepage has thousands will it be difficult to outrank that page or could i do it with minimal backlinks...basically just wonderinghow much of a factor the links going to the homepage play in SERPs. Hi, I have a few pages with adsense and i promote them on facebook, so i have a little traffic coming from there. I was reading adsense blogs the yesterday and i seen someone got his account terminated for breach of TOS, then someone replied quoting the TOS, where it mentioned social networking traffic.Then they went on to explain adsense doesn't like fb traffic cus theres a likelyhood it was your friends clicking your links etc. sounds like bs to me, but i cant afford to lose my adsense account, i just started and would hate to have lost such a valuable resource. Now each one will have any where from 20 to 3000 exact searches per month. The point is to get some targeted traffic, but just to add more content to the site.

Now on the page that lists them all, how would you link them.
Now to get the most link juice, I'm probably going to want it is:

Charlie Sheen cocaine
Linsay Lohan cocaine
Paris Hilton cocaine
Justin Bieber cocaine
Michael Jackson cocaine

etc etc. But when you have a list of over 100 names witht he word cocaine beside it, from the end user it looks ugly and repeptive.

Should I just put the names, or should I add cocaine to the end of each link?

So I've blasted a heavily spun article to about 50-60 sites (mostly web 2.0, and a few article directories) and upon checking, I already have about 7-8 links indexed.

If you were me and wanted to have these links indexed in 3 days, how would you do it?

Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Bookmarking. (This alone used to get all links indexed in past for me, but doesn't seem to be working as effectively now).
2. Scrape a few articles, automatically spin, and submit 5-10 articles using AMR. (Haven't tested this previously. Any recommendations?)
3. Create an RSS feed, submit it to RSS directories, bookmark it.

I'd also use Scrapebox but I don't own a license yet. I guess I'm not just looking to have these indexed, but would also like some additional links pointing to these properties. Apart from the things suggested above, what would you suggest?

For every 500 "posting" .edu backlinks, only 2-5 will ever actually post. Why is this, could anybody explain? And could anybody help me decide on a new method for harvesting .edu backlinks (or any type of backlink) more effectively? I have no real strategy, I use the site:.edu custom footprint with WP blogs, but I know there are certain methods to use to harvest backlinks effectively after I've harvested, commented, etc. to do with trimming to the root etc., but I can't find them again. I have been using tweetadder for several weeks now but I seem to be stuck at around 2700 followers(most of these where from a paid service), i cant seem to climb much higher than that, I am using the auto unfollow/follow feature and seem to just be stuck in a loop of unfollowing and following but never increasing my follow count.

What are the best settings for this that will continually increase my follow count, I allways seem to be at the maximum follow %.
