Need help trying to land my first offline client.

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 06:46 PM PDT

2 weeks ago I bought a domain that targets the KW "my city dentists" for a little side project that Id work on over time. Well today I check and that baby is sittin at the #2 spot, below the 7 local google places. So now its time to contact potential clients to get some money. I have absoultly no idea how to do this so I need some help. So far this is my plan

Ive looked up all the dentists in my area and gathered a list of 42 of them. Ill go through it again later and check off all the ones WITH a website (which at a quick glance looks likes its less than 10) and send a letter to all those WITHOUT a website.

I need help with writing a letter than I can mail to all these dentist. Do I just say I own mycitydentist.com and its at the #2 spot on google getting lots of exposure and that I want to rent it out to a local dentist for a monthly fee? Ill also put in the letter that I am sending this exact letter to every dentist in town and will only sell it to one so act fast, or something like that.

I want to sound as professional as possible even though I am a complete amateur. For price I though about including in the letter stating you can rent this site for $xxx amount per month. But I have absoultly no clue how much to charge. Its a fairly small city, 65K people and with a few variations of the keywords theres less than 100 searches a month. If I could get $250 a month Id be pretty happy, but it that to much or to little?

Once I get a client do I need to have some sort of legal documents or anything? Do I just send him a monthly invoice?

Sorry for the long post but like I said I am a complete noob when it comes to this. If any of you know of any good ebooks that are worth reading please let me know, thats what Im really look for at the moment.

Facebook removing reviews and discussions!

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 06:41 PM PDT

I got this message today above my page.

We want to make sure the tools you use to manage your page are as effective as possible. Here's an update that may affect how you connect with your audience:
Improvements to Insights: You'll now see a new public metric called People Talking About This underneath your fan count to show the number of people on Facebook who have engaged with your page in the last 7 days. Learn more in your Page Insights.
Reviews and Discussions: The best way to encourage conversation and feedback is through posts and comments on your Wall. To focus on this, we'll be removing the Reviews and Discussions apps on October 31st. Learn More

This stinks! I have over 40 real legit reviews from happy customers that really helps my business. Anyone else getting affected by this? I don't ever use the discussion and don;t care about that. But removing the reviews tab is really going to hurt :(:(

Decaptcher & Clad

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:59 PM PDT

Bear with me, this is the first time I've used CLAD, so I'm struggling a bit!

I purchased "credits" over at Decaptcher. I set them up in settting on CLAD. So I put in my port, login, and password. The top "Enable this captcha service" is checked. However, I am still being prompted to enter the captcha myself. I thought I had to wait a few seconds, and see if the system picked it up, but it didn't. Not sure where I went wrong and would appreciate any help! Thanks guy/gals :)

Blast to bookmarks?

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:48 PM PDT

In my forum profile blast to support my pyramid, should I include social bookmark urls to be blasted by forum profiles?

Also, other that forum profiles, how do you support your web 2.0 profiles to give them more link juice? Should I not add another layer of web 2.0 profiles linked to them in senuke since they are from the same sites?

Few questions about refferers thanks will be given!

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:16 PM PDT

1. If i place a banner on my website and someone clicks on that banner then the referrer sent to the cpa company would be my website correct?

2. If i make that banner redirect through a separate file on my website....like ww.mywebsite.com/banneroffer....then i can use that link anywhere and the referrer will still be my website??

How to build my own proxy list?

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:15 PM PDT

Hey there!

I'm kinda new to this whole stuff, but I realise I need working proxies for the thing I want to do money with. :yumyum:

So, is there any FREE way to get free working proxies?

My PC is running 24/7 anyways, so that's not a problem.

Hope I can get some help.

Love this board.

Greetings

Agh, help, CJ commissions all gone :(

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:09 PM PDT

Okay so,

I signed up for an offer on CJ where I get paid (it's a very small amount) when people sign up for a free account. So it's a lead, based system.

then I went over to a site where you can pay folks to sign up for programs and stuff.

So I get like 70 people to sign up for this program, and for the $20 I spent, I've got like $50! And I'm thinking, not so bad!

This was over the course of 3 days.

But then today, I log in and my earnings are now only $8! And I go look at the transactions and they are all red. What does all this mean?

And when I look at my program for this site, it says;
Date Accepted, Sept 3, Ending Oct 13.

I don't remember it saying it was ending before... :(

It is hard to get any info on the CJ reports generator.... what is going on?

I am going to try the same thing, but instead of just linking people to the advertiser's site, I have a redirect in place from the url on my website to redirect to their site.

Required: VCC AVS for Bank Verified USA PayPal Account

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:05 PM PDT

We currently run a legitimate LLC in New Zealand which currently imports some goods from the USA. Our accounts department and HQ are located in New Zealand and our bank accounts are also located here.

We have a USA shipping depot and physical address and we currently use wire transfers with our USA based merchants to purchase supplies for importation to New Zealand. This is however, this is proving to be quite costly.

After weeks of negotiations with PayPal they have finally concluded that we will be unable to utilize our New Zealand bank-issued credit cards with some merchants that require address verification through PayPal. PayPal are unwilling to assist us further with this issue.

Currently some merchants issue us with the following when we attempt to make payments using our verified USA PayPal account (which has a healthy US$ balance):

"The seller of this item requires you to provide a Confirmed Address for delivery. To confirm your address, please add a credit card below."

This is because PayPal are unable to address verify our company's New Zealand bank issued credit cards.

Our USA PayPal account is verified using an online Bank, however we are unable to get a debit/credit card issued in the USA due to regulations surrounding the Patriot Act regarding non-USA citizens opening USA bank accounts. None of our company directors are USA citizens and thus do not have SSN#'s.

I believe we require a Virtual Credit Card (VCC) which has our address attached to it (AVS). I have been through Google seeking prompt service, and thus far, no one has been able to deliver what we need.

We are happy to pay for this service, but we will require proof that this service will work and evidence that it has worked before. There are a number of scams around and we would like to take all precautions to protect our legitimate LLC from any association with fraudulent entities.

Anyone help?

SEO question regarding Links from multiple subdomains

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:47 PM PDT

I have a quick question and wanted to get a few opinions.

I have a site that the main domain is quite hi say pr7 pr8 and it has many SUBDOMAINS (over a thousand) that are pr3 to pr6. Is it worth having a backlink from each subdomain?

I know some people will say you need ip diversity but I am not concerned about that as I have learned in the past that it is not a big factor.

Thanks

[ALDS] Yankees vs Tigers - Game 5

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:43 PM PDT

Who is watching??

20 minutes to go!!! I have mixed emotions .. I am so excited, but at the same time I am nervous!

The Yankees lineup looks strong today, but the fact that they are relying on Nova for 6 innings is a little worrying .. true, he is an awesome pitcher, but his lack of experience is the worry! All it takes is one bad game from him, and tonight isn't the time for a bad game lol

Whats your thoughts?

P.S. LETS GO YANKEES!

Amazon Associates Re-Open Doors Again to CA affiliates

Me Happy, Got this email from Amazon yesterday:

Hello,

As you may have heard, California Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation repealing the law that had forced us to terminate our California Associates. We are pleased to invite all California Associates whose accounts were closed due to the prior legislation to re-enroll in the Associates Program.

If you haven’t already re-enrolled, please click here:

When asked to sign in, please use the same email address and password that were previously associated with your Associates account. To make your return to the Program as seamless as possible, when you re-enroll, your account settings (login, Associates ID, payment information, etc.) will be the same as they were previously.

Rss feed problem

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:29 PM PDT

I have two websites that are currently using RSS posts.

One of my websites the title does not link directly to the RSS site and the other one it does. I was wondering if there was a way that clicking on the title would redirect the visitor to my own sites page instead of the RSS feed.

Please also tell me if this is due to the feed from the RSS or is it because of something else.

Thanks

How much do you earn per visitor?

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:06 PM PDT

I'm hoping to get some ideas on how I can increase the conversion rate of my site. Right now I'm only earning $.20 per unique visitor to my site. It has lots of content (with adsense) and I have in content links as well as images/links on the right side that direct traffic to the product reviews with affiliate links.

So, how much are you earning per visitor not including ezine/newsletter profits (too much hassle) and how did you increase conversions to get it that high?

3D GPU's

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 03:43 PM PDT

Do you think that within a few years that there will be 3D GPU's? There is already work by intel on 3D CPU's that allow it to achieve 37% performance boost over a regular cpu. But I think that they are focusing on small devices, instead of the gaming and video editing industry.

Any free rss posters?

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 02:54 PM PDT

I have been using RSS Poster free version and I really enjoy what it offers. Right now I cant afford the $50 for it. Does anyone know of an alternative free plugin that will search RSS feeds and create posts in hour increments? Eventually once I gain enough money from adsense I'll buy it but for right now I need a free solution for the time being.

Selling website reluctantly! Whats it worth!

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 02:52 PM PDT

Need to sell website that my wife does not like me having for one reason and another (not porn) but has some copyright stuff on it.

Makes approx £350- £550 per week for last 2-3 years - can prove this via paypal, also pulls approx 250 adsense ( harder for me to prove)

What kind of cash would I expect from this - this is not a set and forget more of a full time job (another reason me to get rid)

What im asking is were could I sell this as some stuff on it I may not want to talk about on flipper.

Any ideas would be great .

hey guys

I have been with adsense for many years, building up my sites.

I always wondered is it a bad idea to put the Google Analytic code on your pages? I assume this will let Google see where your traffic is coming from just in case its from sources they done agree too? You will be canned.

General SEO Discussion, Percentages.

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 01:14 PM PDT

So I work at a SEO firm and the decision makers don't really know what they're talking about. I'm actually the design / dev guy in the building, and about a year ago SEO / Blackhat became sort of a hobby for me. I now have about 80 sites of my own, 50 of those dedicated to IM. And I'm only at like 15$ a day or so and growing.

So basically I feel like i have a much better knowledge then these guys do, they have been doing the same practices to get people ranked for a couple years now, and they aren't changing their SEO blueprint at all.

They still seem to think that onsite SEO is only 20% and 80% is offsite. But since Gs changes, it seems like the common consensus is content is king. So in your opinion, what is the percentage of onsite and offsite SEO?

I'm thinking 60% onsite, 40% offsite.

As in, onsite will get you to page 4 - 5, but offsite will get you to page one.

But like i said I've only been doing this for a year, so my experience is limited, which is why I'm asking the question to you fine people. Have at it.
