Low funds: start hosted blogger (or whatever) then move to domain later? Is this OK idea?

Yo guys, have a bunch of KWs and ideas I want to pursue but not alot of cash for domains right now...is it feasible and worth it to build a few blogspot (or whatever, wordpress.com etc) blogs and then when I buy the domain to 301 direct them to new domain? Would I be wasting time by building links to the blogs before moving them?

Where to host my first blog?

Lets say I were to build a basic blog on either WP or Blogger. I write my own original content, maybe grab some elsewhere and spin it, throw some juicy keywords in there, and really key into a certain niche. Then I decided I need my own unique domain name and private host. How would you suggest going about this. Looking for a bit of advice as a newbie. I see that some sites such as godaddy offer a free domain with a cheap hosting plan. I also see that you can buy domains cheapy and then also host unlimited domains cheapy. That also seems desirable. Pay X dollars a month for hosting, and then every domain name I purchase can be hosted under that same contract. Any way to obtain free domains? Any advice is definitely helpful!

I've worked for myself over 3 years since finding this forum. I've had ups and downs. Had $4,000 weeks and $200 weeks and learned a lot along the way. I'll be working
in an office temporarily for the first time in years. Guy I did some work for online liked
what I did so much he flew me out to New York to do onsite consultant work. I have family and friends here any way.

My question is how many of you use Black Hat for the company you work for to increase their earnings and yours? I'm given a moderate salary but Dude laid out a generous bonus plan based on my performance. I'm in charge and can do
what I want. I'd love to hear examples of using BH marketing to increasing
job performance for your employer.
Seems like a quick route to big money and a good work at home position which is where I'll be continuing my work for him by February next year.

So I need a simple database schema for a DVD database. Here is my criteria:

- database has to allow storage of customer details (names, etc.)

- customer preferences (favourite genres, actors, directors etc.)

- a catalogue of films held in stock ready for rental or borrowed

- a table cross-referencing the DVDs to the customers who have borrowed them

- a list of main actors linked to the list of films, genres, directors (to allow searching by category) etc.

I signed up earlier today and noticed I got about 40 likes within the first 30 or so minutes. After a while this activity went down and it has been pretty slow ever since.

I was wondering if they prioritize new users for a while? Or are there certain times of the day where the activity is higher?

Selling Banner Ads?

I have been approached by a company representing Lacoste. They want me to set a monthly price for banner ads on one of my sites.

My site is not in the fashion niche but is in a niche that fashion minded people may visit.

They are asking me to give them a quote on one or any of several different banner sizes.

My question is: How should I price this? I have never sold banner ad space before and would appreciate some input from you guys.

Anyone elses KW research tools crap out after 3 usages?

Everytime I use Traffic Travis or Market Samurai more than 3 times a day, they cease to work. It'll gather the DA and PR and such, but it'll never show the backlinks. This happening to anyone else? It's super frustrating and I'm not sure why it's happening

Site hacked, still getting GET requests from hacker, how to turn the tables

Firstly not really sure if this is the best part of the forum to put this, so if a mod feels it's not please put it where you think best.

My customers website was previously hacked and was serving ads for a large South American website. Gigabytes of ads!

I have removed the hack over 3 months ago but the site is still getting thousands of GET requests daily from their site

GET /images/banners/ad_left.php HTTP/1.1

I have used htaccess to redirect the request back to the user 127.0.0.1, which reduces the load on the Server but still wastes cycles dealing with the hits.

More importantly the customers site recently got hit with a Google algorithmic penalty which I suspect may well be related to the ad traffic, although I'm not sure how. A reconsideration request has fixed it for now but I certainly want to remove this variable from the mix.

So given we know the GET request, is there any way of turning this against the hackers? At the very least something that will give them a reason to remove the site from their ad rotation script.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have seen a few methods out there that have involved using WIX and Wordpress templates to sell cheap websites that make hundreds very easily once clients are secured. Does anyone else here feel that Trendy Flash might be a good thing to use? I feel that getting a grip on the software, coupled with their reseller package (pay per month, per client 2-5$ each) it could be profitable. I mean, sell a VERY good looking Flash website to a small business for 200-500$ and charge 15$ a month for "Hosting". You got straight cash in the pocket and passive income for long periods of time.

So anyone have any advice on this subject, and ideas, experience, or criticisms?

I noticed that G uses "bounce rate" and "time on site" info to rank the sites. It tests new sites, letting them sit in top3 spots and then throws them far away, saying OK now I need to see your backlinking, if you want to come back to the SEPRs.

Is there any clean way to lower the bouce rates? A popup-popdown will probably be effective that way, but who doesn't hate these. May be a 1x1 iframe to an inner page? Some kind of tricky javascript?

I am at University, where people are aged 18+ and they still have a web filter! It's stupid .. It wont let me look at file sharing sites, torrents, and worst of all .. PORN! :eek:

Hello I have a blog in Polish language that receives hundreds of visits per day- increasing trend.

GWT says: Your site's domain is currently associated with the target: Poland
It cannot be changed.

MY GOALS
The blog needs to have also English visits. I would like to optimize also for Worldwide audience.

WHAT I AM DOING RIGHT NOW
Right now I am adding posts in two languages. First PL, then in the same post EN.

However the blog is almost unfindable from UK,USA,AU,etc. (or searching in a google.com in English - instead than google.pl in PL)


WHAT I AM THINKING TO DO
I am thinking to clone the blog and buy my domain.net (same domain name, but .net)
In the .net I would translate everything to English, theme and posts.


WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?
  • Make the English clone and remove the English version from the .PL site. So that there will be absolutely duplicated text, or
  • Make the English clone and leave both PL and EN versions in the .PL blog?
  • If text will be completely different, but the rest as theme, menus, images, photos, videos will be the same... would it be marked as duplicated and penalized?

Building a new program for everyone

Hey guys since doing my research on all the programs out there none of them really stood up to my standards when it came to facebook adders and such so today I am starting on building my own and basically this programs is going to have everything that you guys want but in one program below is a list of everything that will be in this program.

Facebook
  1. Add friends automatically and cancels friend requests sent and done all with whatever time you set it to. The minimum is 24 hours so if you send out requests one day and have it set to run every 24 hours it will and then the next 24 hours after you add all of them it will cancel the ones that have not accepted.
  2. Message friends
  3. scrape ids even from fan pages that you cant see the likes on ;)
  4. Automatic wall poster
  5. Proxy scraper that will search for fresh proxies
  6. Automatically assign proxy's to accounts
  7. Interface which will automatically customize your profile for you and update your status for you. I know i hated creating so many profiles with just one pictures and adding everything else. This program will completely pimp your profile out for you.
  8. There is more to this list but not going to post it all at this time.
Email
  1. Will set up emails through yahoo.
  2. Proxy scraper
  3. Assign proxies so you can set up more emails after you get that stupid message from yahoo.

To sum it up this is going to be an awesome program and I will need beta testers soon. I am 25% done and have only been working on it for 2 hours. So hoping to be done within the next two days if you guys would like to see more things with this program please post them. Cause I know your fed up with not being able to have everything in one package. Your ideas help.

I am looking to grow my business, which is completely legit, but VERY competitive. It involves services for companies and I get a decent amount of clicks using AdWords, but for every $100 in ads I only make $20 because it is SOOOO competitive and the PPC is $5. I purchased adWords vouchers and want to make sure they don't catch on as I am always advertising the same website...any ideas or suggestions to make sure i can keep using vouchers and stay competitive with the other large companies I compete with?

- i use a different IP each time to register a new account
- i use yahoo to create the emails rather than my hosting service
- i delete the campaigns and ads and even cancel the account to make sure there are no trails
- i use private browsing via firefox so cookies and history are always clear

i have only done this with three accounts and going to stop once i can build my income level to be stationary with new clients.

Last year I had 300 blogs on blogspot, 7-10 on each gmail account, all link to one adsense account, same ip, all unique articles. Was making good money until Google shut my adsense and sandboxed all my blogs. If I try the same method again, but with adbrite this time, will they still try to sandbox my blogs? whay should I do to avoid getting sandboxed by Google?
