I've just tried to register a couple of .org.au domains and have been asked to provide the following info

Now I can bluff that easy enough. I'm just going to throw one in my private network and age the other.

I do plan to monetize it in a year or so, and monetize it in a big way. This site will have over a year of work on it by the time it becomes a "for profit" site, so I don't want any hassles down the line.

This is the only domain I could find that I'm willing to sink this much work into, as it contains an action word followed by a gun keyword and is very very brandable. The site design and database access will cost me over $30,000. So I'm pretty serious about this one.

I can't tell you how many times I get this question.

I would say it really depends on your specific niche. If you carry dollar store items or more of flea market genre then I would say ebay is the better choice.

Mainly because you would benifit from ebay's large audience at a more economic standpoint than you would if you invested money and advertising into your own website.

The main attraction to ebay is that they do all the advertising for you. Customers know ebay, they check ebay, and they definetly buy from ebay. So as a result the customers are there, its just up to you to lay your merchandise out for them to see.

If you were to open a website for dollar store items, it would be very expensive and time consuming to market each individual product. To create an adword campaign for each product would put you out of business the first week.

Now I'm not saying it can't be done with a website, because it can and it is. However its not an easy task.

I myself sell brand name apparel. So hands down opening up a website would be a better choice than using ebay. I'm not saying it won't work, because I sell on ebay as well and use it as another avenue of revenue. However I pull a much larger margin from my own website than I do ebay.

Why?

Having your own website is like operating a closed market, where you dictate the prices, styles, and terms. Once a customers visits your website, hes yours. You can tell him or her what the prices are and what your specific terms are. And if they choose to purchase something from your site you have the oppurtunity to form a long lasting relationship with that customer for years to come.

Now, with ebay, customers have choices and in my opinion too much freedom. Why do you think its so hard to find the right niche to even pull a small margin? You have thousands of competitors doing the very same thing you are(not really much)


I'll give you a real life example. I sell North Face Denali fleece both on ebay and my own site.

On ebay I get on average 70-85 for North Face denali Fleece. (Higher for rare colors and this holiday season)

On my website I have a fixed price of 110.00(free shipping) This price does not change. Its my store price.

I run a Adowrds campaign that costs me about 52.00 per day. I sell about 5-6 jackets per day at 110.00 each. Thats roughly 600.00 per day.

And I also compile a list of customers who bought from me and e-mail them weekly updates on new styles. They are now my customers who trust me and love my site.



Not with ebay...customers who purchase from me don't even give me a second look, they have a sea of choices.

Here is a fairly easy way to make a few dollars on blackplanet or any social site. I find homegrown pics of girls on the internet posing in the mirror with their camera phones and I create profiles of the girls on blackplanet dressed a little provocative (but not nude but you will need them nude later) in which I leave active for about 2 weeks and get guys interested in them. Once they are interested, I change the "about me" section and put up something like "my boyfriend is harassing me on here and hacked my page so I am moving to "affiliate of your choice link". My affiliate site is another social site geared towards adults. So on the affiliate site I set her up another profile where she will have some of the same things as on the previous profile but she will also have some new thumbnail photos of her nude or semi nude visible but to small to really see, so when they click to see the nude pics, the registration form for the affiliate pops up and they will sign up to see her new nude photos.

I am having some success with this method but I think it would work better if my link on blackplanet would go directly to my affiliate site. Right now my link goes to a "dangerous url warning page" before it lets you go to an external page and I think this scares off a lot of potential sign ups. My question is can you bypass the warning page and go directly to the external link with some kind of script or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a rogueware attack my computer three days ago. I've tried 4 different software trying to get rid of this damn thing. It's called "privacy protection". The first thing it did was pop up a fake scanner telling me I had child porn on my computer. Then it disabled my internet, started plaguing me with pop ups, and I couldn't open task manager.

So a client called me out for charging her for a service that she could have received for a lower price. I'm playing the middleman and she snooped around to find out where some of the "features" of my service came from. She threatened to out me in public, newspapers, twitter, etc.

I've explained to her that managing these things takes time and must be "optimized" for search engines. She has no idea what SEO, etc. is, but she insists that she could do it. I offered her half of her money back, and access to the paid SEO services. I'm waiting for a reply to that, and if she accepts, I'm handing over everything that she knows about. The stuff that she didn't find will be taken down, so it doesn't help her.

I am getting many questions about how I get my consulting leads, and offline customers without moving my ass from couch.

I decided to share one of my gold nuggets with you.
This method can generate you tons of business, lots of publicity, and cost anywhere from $369 to ~$1.000

This method will work best for small countries non-english with high national proud.
So this will have poor results in US, Canada, UK, IE and possibly AU (I would still go after it in New Zealand).
You can still try in those countries, but expect very limited results.

So after introduction and limitations - lets hit the juicy method.

When you are going through papers with maximum 2 million readers base you will see that their information provided in there is... lets say lower quality than big names. When you will go through 2-3 papers like that you will notice, that most news are very similar to each other, and they are different because of content.

So what is that about?

Well its simple - those smaller websites/papers/media that cannot afford their own news base will use news agencies in order to feed for news coverage.

The one that is best for our purpose is Associated Press.

Lets see what Wikipedia says about it:

So they cover outstanding 6,701 media creations + unknown number of websites and content generators.

So this is totaling to tens of thousands media properties ready to post articles/news that they are interested in.

But why this articles are different in each newspaper?
Simply - each article will be moderated and re-written, so it looks like unique:

OK, now to the exact method:

In order to manipulate news coverage you will need your article posted in Associated Press. Many Press Release companies charge $2K per release including AP. But thats not good enough, we need premium distributor able to push AP news releases without moderation by AP people.

Here comes:

Check last package - next day release, ASSOCIATED PRESS release, news papers coverage, SEO links, pictures + video allowed.

To make it even sweeter, lets check who will receive your article in rss feed:

OK, but not all will publish your news of course, not even 10%.

There is a trick to make this working, and to getting most out of it.

We have two methods - White Hat, and Black Hat.



White Hat:

Create article using proper niche.
You need Press Release that looks real - look around papers how other small companies get there.
Your company needs to be innovative, unique, and better than current market.

Creating article for SEO company would look like:

-SEO market is in decline because of world crisis (people love to read how bad it is in crisis)
-Series of bankrupcies are making this market dead end for old companies (find 1-2 bankrupcies in last 2 years and put this as example)
-Current leaders struggling to make living (try to find some info about big companies decreasing revenue etc)
-How innovators are creating whole market from the scratch (here is where your company comes - put interview with yourself about how you try to avoid problems, and post follow up about how companies like you are future leaders in SEO and internet marketing).
If you are from - lets say - Austria, you can post as conclusion - "Austrian companies seems to found a place for existence and are trying to take over the world market. Will the amazing quality and innovation created by media houses like YourLink.com be enough to take over the leaders?"




Black Hat:

Create a fake website - buy domain with minimum of 2 years private whois, and create there website for institute of technology or similar. So if you go for SEO business, create Research Facility for Web Search Engines Nevada. (always put education body in different country than you are in).
Create this really simple (as those companies have) website. Put some text, map, rip off some college videos about basketball etc - make it look real.
Best use Wordpress for it, and post some news (rip them off from different sites) and like a 1st news on the website put information about research held: Most Innovative SEO Company.
Now put 3-4 information about the winners.
1st - put information about, in this example, US based SEO companies. Pick the winner, and then put under this International SEO companies, and put yourself #1 and company from list above as #2.
Post explanation that your company deserved it thanks to amazing input in SEO etc etc - but dont make this advertising post. Keep it simple, this is just fake proof for news agencies that you really got it.

Once all this mascaraed is over, lets move to writing your Press Release.
Create Press Release saying (if you are lets say Slovakian company) Small Slovakian company beats global leaders to accomplished 1st Place Award for most innovative company in the world!
Then post realistic information about competition, who you are, fake interview, few bad information (why your market is too small to let you grow as you want, what this means for Slovakian economy etc).
OFC say in article how hard it is, and that your company re-invest 100% of its revenue to fight off bad and ugly SEO corporations (people love to support David in fight against Goliath).




Suggestions:

NEVER put anchor in your Press Release, use regular link. Anchor suggest, that its fake article.

Never advertise your business - make it realistic, write even 1-2 bad things about it, so people will believe this release is real.

If you are doing this in small country - put your countries name in title. So if you are from Portugal put "Portuguese company ignores the crisis to take over best world company award".
Your countries companies will have feed set to detect all press releases with your countries names in it, like "Portugal" and "Portuguese". So you are sure to hit their editors.
Because newspapers over the world see revenue falling because of crisis, they don't have enough editorial staff to check articles - as long as it looks real, it will get published.
ALWAYS write articles in English - the news papers in your country will translate them + you can get coverage in other countries as well.
Always have on your website possibility to change language from national to English - be prepared for few international leads!
Have proper hosting - news in website or paper can cause your hosting company to fail on delivering.

So now you know why so many crappy news are showing in papers about unknown companies ruling over the world.

So, I was building my wordpress site for adsense but now I want to change it to promote a clickbank product. I have a post that is promoting that product and I want it to be the only post from the homepage(static).

Is there a way/plugin to make that post static ? Or any plugin to exclude the other posts from the homepage only.

I dont know where else to ask the question but anyone with any knowledge please point me in the right direction. About 5 years ago I lost over about $150,000 in bad inverstments. I lost everything. I lost assets, cash, and huge debts. I finally finished paying off people i know and the only ones left are credit card companies and some other shit which is about $35,000. Just a quick question about approval on adsense.

Basically I got my adsense account banned a while back for invalid click activity on my main email account and since then I have moved and only the other day set up a new account in a relatives name with my new address etc.

Anyway, my question is. Will google link that one account is banned and being used on the same IP as the new account that has applied for adsense (dif url name address etc though). Note that I use both accs + another for analytics on the same ip/pc etc.

Something to note though also is that I go to a mate of mines who has an office maybe once a fortnight to do work on a jointventure we have going on and i use all my accounts and his adsense has not been banned because i logged in on his internet connection.

I also personally cant see it really mattering providing the new account is used legitimately and under new info etc.

What do you guys know from your experience? If it does get banned because of this I have alternative ways of getting a new one but it would be better if it just got approved straight off the bat without messing about.

Does article baiting a good way to get backlinks? does it still work?

Hi I have a content locker (adgatemedia) and I have it to where it appears after the user clicks the download button the only problem is the when the click it the file is givn to them. Is there anyway to make it so they don't get the file until they do the survey

I'm going to drop an ad on my site promoting a clickbank product. The idea is to split-test it against an adsense ad. The only problem is that all the tracking on Adsense is built-in. Just looking at the dashboard I can tell what my CTR is, what my CPC is, and what my CPM is.

How can you do something similar with clickbank? I feel like I'm going to have to do some strung-together scheme like checking the pageviews on google analytics and then dividing by two to account for the split test, and then open my CB control panel in another window, check the earnings for the same period as the analytics is showing, then do all the division manually to figure out what my CTR and CPC are.

I'm getting about $1.00 p/click now with a little better than a 1% CTR with Adsense, I'd like to see if I can do better with CB ads....but you can't tell if you can't track.

Does anyone know if there's a way to take a regular URL from Amazon and turn it into an affiliate URL?
